A Third Lebanon War?
Commentary Magazine ^ | February 18, 2009 | Michael J. Totten

The Lebanese-Israeli border has been calmer during the last two and a half years than it has been in decades. Hezbollah replenished its arsenal of rockets after the 2006 war, but has chosen to lay low in the meantime. Not one Israeli soldier has been kidnapped since the war’s end, and not a single Hezbollah rocket has landed in Israel. Nothing stays the same in the Middle East for long, though, and Israel and Lebanon may be headed for confrontation again.

Having just watched their buddies in Gaza get pasted and knowing that they will likely be facing Bibi this time instead of Olmert I can't see that Iran's people in Lebanon will be eager to start a fight.

They will wait until Iran has nukes, and US forces have been pulled out of Iraq, and then go "all in". They will hit Israel from Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and with Syrian and Iranian troops across the Golan.

Now Israel sitting by passively and lets Iran put all their pieces in place is another question.

I also thought that there were a few rockets lobbed in from Lebanon during the height of the Gaza fighting.

“I also thought that there were a few rockets lobbed in from Lebanon during the height of the Gaza fighting.”

There were. The Lebanese gov’t blamed it on rogue elements.
