The lesson here is to not pay anything in taxes because the government will seize your money at any given time at it’s own whim. Pay ONLY when they are due and never before...

This brings up a good point. For us self-employed people who pay quarterly estimated taxes, it actually might get to the point where it will be better to not make the payments until April 15 and pay the penalty. The penalty is not that big, I think around 5%.

I was wondering the same thing. My husband runs a business as a corporation. Can we not send in our montly income tax withholding (KW-5) until we are even with what the state owes us for our refund? Or will we get a nasty letter estimating our missed payment with interest and penalties? I think I know the answer.
