Once California led the way, I wondered how many other states would follow suit and hold tax refunds as ransom as a means of “educating” the populace that tax and fee increases are “necessary”.

Figured it would be here in Massachusetts, not Kansas of all places.

The idea of all states in the union who continue to use all monies that is collected in taxes are idiots or really don't care about the citizens. Everyone should know that taxes are pay as you go and that no citizen should give less than what the percentage says they are to give each pay day. Knowing this they still spend all of the money when they know that there are going to be refunds that should be given to the people that paid in. In essence what they are really doing is spending yours and my money that does not belong to them. However, it is against the law not to give them the money so as to be able to give it back to me. Some law eh.

The lesson here is to not pay anything in taxes because the government will seize your money at any given time at it’s own whim. Pay ONLY when they are due and never before...

Kansas citizens owed a refund should seek court action to seize state assets in lieu of what they are owed by the state. I would start by seizing the furniture in the governor’s office.

State tax refunds

I think that would be illegal... it isn't their money! How about selling some of the state property first... starting with of course the governor's house.

Refund? What's a refund?? I'm always owing money.

But all you folk waiting on refunds, you'll have to wait until AFTER April 15th. My TAX payment will be large enough to pay several of your refunds....

...and don't blame me, I didn't vote for her.

The way I look at it this is a tax increase with out a vote or “Taxation without representation.” A slick way to increase your taxes and most people go along with it.

Well, at least this goat-rope will reduce her ability to take Brownbacks seat if she so chooses. Now if you could only find a Reagan Republican to replace him, ideally one with stones enough to have served in uniform.

I agree, I am scared she is going to end up in the White House. Maybe if the city and state weren't so busy giving money to people like ooooo lets say Bill Warren we the middle class loosing everything might get our money.

Which state will jump on the bandwagon next?

I can see some states banning refunds all together. If you paid too much, tough shit. If you didn’t pay enough, you will be penalized.

PREDICTION

This is the beginning of a domino effect that will involve the federal tax system too....

The simple answer is to make certain you pay no more in than necessary.....view the remainder a loss.

I fully expect means-testing-affirmative-action regarding tax returns.....
