Not knocking anyone who has a food allergy..

Not allergic to peanuts, but certain types of nuts -- mouth swells up so that I look like a chipmunk and an anti-histamine is necessary to knock down the swelling and numbness. Folks around the office hide their mixed-nut snacks when I come by their desks!

Another neat inborn allergy is to a chemical found in the skins of apples, pears and peaches. It's also found in birch bark.

You eat any of those fruits/bark without first cooking it the insides of your mouth could swell up and choke you to death ~ or you could just have welts.
