Here's the latest on New Hampshire's secession bill:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhsjaIbplt8

A secession-leaning bill goes before the New Hampshire House March 4. Its proponents announce a major demonstration for the same day. This last time something like this happened here it was a longshot fight to prohibit Real ID...and it succeeded.

I would love it if NH actually seceeded. It could trigger many other states to follow suit in advance of Civil War - the Sequel.

Well, Obama does say he is the new Lincoln

But NH isn’t going anywhere, its fast becoming Mass North.

Live Free or Die is fast becoming a outdated and unheard term in NH

NH House History

In 1942, a constitutional amendment limited the size of the House to 400 but not less than 375 members. As a result, the New Hampshire House is the largest state legislative body in the United States.

Wow, with 400 members in a tiny state, finding one such member to introduce a bill must be really tough.

"Well, Obama does say he is the new Lincoln"

Isn't Karma a bitch? Depending on how the vote goes, I wouldn't recommend any more trips to Ford's theater for Mr. Barry.

Ya know, if I were the DBM, you'd be in REAL trouble for "talking down" NH secession potential.

Realistically, I agree with you, but the "Obama" in me is secretly "hoping" for "change".

:-)

So is New Hampshire going to set itself up as a separate nation? And have an Army? A navy?

They would be a sovereign independent state, out of the union of the United States of America. ALL states are sovereign states. If the federal government ever went away, the states would still function and exist because they CREATED the federal government and gave the federal government certain powers they had originally. States pre-existed the federal government. On our current course they will outlive it as well.

And they already have a state guard (NH national guard) under the control of the governor. They would also have a militia as defined in their constitution probably defining it as able-bodied men or persons between 18-42 years old.

Well we don’t want war (but if necessary let the Big-Gov Feds be the agressor), but peaceful secession would be fine (at least on the part of the states and people)-and if the have to raise an army as necessary..it’s fine.

I like the modern precedent, but I don't expect civil war even after half or more of the states either secede or throw out the socialist states. Dear Leader is a bully, not a fighter, and he doesn't have what it takes to fight anyone whose arms aren't being held. Obama would rather be Community-Organizer-for-Life in a smaller country than President of the 50 or 57 United States for a mere four years; as his fictional counterpart said, in Milton's Paradise Lost, "it is better to rule in Hell than to serve in Heaven". He'll let us go peacefully, and I hope all sides will work hard to keep it peaceful.

IMO, we are headed for a new Civil War regardless of what NH does. When we look at the tone that the Democrats employ towards conservatives and the actions they have taken with their radical and confiscatory policies, they are driving a political wedge in this country. Increasingly, it is becoming more difficult for liberals and conservatives to engage in political discourse without the tone of the conversation deteriorating into accusations and worse. As things currently stand, given the legislation that the Congress has passed and the wording they have employed, It will take a major act of civil disobediance or civil war to force the political elites to roll back much of the horrible laws they have passed. I don’t believe that it is possible for the legal or legislative process to strike down the bulk of the horrid legislation that has emerged from the Congress over the past 20 - 60 years.

The nasty tone has been injected by Democrats for years and it has made its way into the general public. We are increasingly divided by political beliefs and regions of the country. Look at the terms we use to describe certain regions of the country - Left Coast, Taxachussetts and the like. Look at the things that Howard Dean, as the DNC chairman, called us - nasty, vile despicable names that the Dems would be whining to the high heavens if we used the same types of terms to define them. They are increasingly nasty and arrogant because they know we won’t do anything about it. Perhaps it’s time we tried something different. If they want a fight, let’s give it to them.

In essence, it matters little or not at all what NH does, I think we aren’t too far away from a repeat of the Civil War. As the Obamoron and the Congress drag us deeper into the extreme marxism that most Americans DON’T want, the prospect of a new Civil War begins to loom ever closer.

That may be true, but we shouldn’t want it! As God says in The Bible we should be “the peacemakers”: Look I don’t want war, I may disagree with liberals, and think, and know they are wrong, but they are Americans too! I don’t want to kill my neighbor just because I think he’s wrong: (that’s not to say that if supported tyranny-violence I wouldn’t oppose him; I would): My advice: Be ready my friend, but first make sure you are ready through Trust in the One True God’s Son: Jesus Christ. If there be war..let them be the agressors (first), and we ‘shall be in the right’; God must be on our side or we have NO hope of Victory! CHEERS,

J.S.
