GREGG WITHDRAWS NOMINATION FOR COMMERCE SEC

For Immediate Release:
Thursday, February 12, 2009

Senator Gregg Statement on His Withdrawal for Consideration of U.S. Commerce Secretary

Sen. Gregg stated, “I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.

“However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.

“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives.

“I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.

“As we move forward, I expect there will be many issues and initiatives where I can and will work to assure the success of the President´s proposals. This will certainly be a goal of mine.

“Kathy and I also want to specifically thank Governor Lynch and Bonnie Newman for their friendship and assistance during this period. In addition we wish to thank all the people, especially in New Hampshire, who have been so kind and generous in their supportive comments.

“As a further matter of clarification, nothing about the vetting process played any role in this decision. I will continue to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate.”

Your link did not work for me.

I removed the .com at the end, and that seems to work:

Keep reminding folks tha Berg is a Hillary follower. The original BC lawsuit is coming from the Clinton camp. Also named in the lawsuit is Biden, the DNC and Nancy P....Hitlery is fifth in line and she could wipe out three of the four in front of her...The fourth is Sheets Bird.

Now that is how a republican withdrawals....with his morals intact and putting his country first. Specter, Snow and Collins certainly should be taking notes on this one.

thank you for not making me boot into Windows to use Photoshop. :)

Thank G*d for Windows. Without it, I'd never have any 'Toy Money' to spend.

Windows and I get along OK, it breaks, I fix it, and other kind folks call me to fix their too.

Life is good. Kacknor has toys. ;)

Do you have any IDEA who the Democrats are who will replace Collins and Snowe?

Wish you were right, but I’m afraid it’s wishful thinking. Obama voters ARE clueless, and realizing O’s clueless is something they cannot do.

That double speak doesnt really matter thats why they doublespeak.

What matters is this throws the Soetoro regime into complete clumsy looking chaos. Gregg damaged himself to do even more damage to Barry 0.

Sorry the pic is a little washed out. It's all I could find. ;)

As far to kicking the Ba*tards out, sounds good. How?

I have very little doubt that O is the zero we figured. Empty suit. Easy pickings should we find some effective strategy. But he isn't in charge here, it's Pelosi. IMO, we have completely underestimated that woman and we are paying the price. She is using the Media to cover and conceal, and nobody is targeting her.

In any case, it's pretty darn clear what we have been doing for the last dozen or so years isn't working. Republicans in Washington are showing a bit of spine now, it's too late to really have any effect. Rush, Hannity, Ingraham and others a continue to fight the battle that we have, unfortunately, LOST, as do most here.

What next? We have lost. No doubt in my mind. The war isn't over, and we need new tactics, but right now I haven't a clue.

Oh. Darn. Sorry.

/RANT

Glad y'all liked the picture... ;)

Gregg threw Obama under the bus first.

LOL. Yes, he did. I'm sure there will be heck to pay from the Obama thug team, but a clear conscious is worth far more.

House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.) said Thursday that President Obama should pull his nomination of GOP Sen. Judd Gregg (N.H.) as Commerce secretary or give Gregg oversight of the Census Bureau.....

......"If President Obama doesn't trust Sen. Judd Gregg to oversee a fair and accurate census, he should withdraw the nomination," Pence told reporters gathered at a press conference Thursday morning.
..........

Thanks for the info, STARWISE! Sounds like Rep. Pence was part of the reason Sen. Gregg decided he'd had enough.

I await the rest of the story, don’t you think the MSM wouldn’t have gleefully (and with a great sigh of relief) reported a Republican tax cheat if at all possible?

Obama and his thugs thought Gregg would be an easy roll, and he might have been. They knew all along they were grabbing the Census process — it’s how they’ll control the 2010 election and beyond.

Your scenario doesn't make sense. Obama could have kept the census process in Commerce, drawing less attention to his nefarious intent and he could have picked one of his own cronies from the start.

Yup, only what a wonderful way to undermine him though!

I’d accept and then undermine zero at every turn until I got fired, then write a book...”Inside the zero adminstration” :)

Um, could the moving census from Commerce to the White House under Rhambo Emanuel have something to do with the placing of a Judd in Commerce? ... Would democRATS trust Gregg with the census? Of course not! Judd finally wised up, it would appear.
