“Have Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Pol Pot apologized for their wars (against humanity itself)?”

Do Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Pol Pot represent all evolutionists? Hitler was a “Christian,” by the way. I suppose you think we should spit on Jesus and disregard Christianity, then?

If you deny unforgivable things have been done in the name of Christianity throughout history, I don’t know what to say to you other than “go back to sleep.” But it’s no stupider to blame Jesus when some screwballs garble his teachings than to blame Darwin when some power-thirsty dingbats draw false conclusions from evolutionary science.

“Darwin is the antidote to the biblical concept that all men are created equal.”

How so?

Good luck trying to present a rational argument on this thread. HA.

You have a lot of patience this evening...I will sit this one out.

Catholics like myself have np problem with God AND evolution being very compatible.

Created equal under God’s law, which has nothing to do with our respective drive or talents.

An IQ test would suffice for that as well.

How so?

My statement is self evident.

I have a lot of homework this evening, and I’m desperate for a reason to put it off.

Count me as yet another Christian who has no problem with God AND evolution. If the Book of Revelations can use symbols, why not Genesis?

That is not a real answer.

For the most part, the conflicts that you refer to are underpinned by struggles for land, power and wealth…with a veneer of religiosity.

As opposed to the solid connection between Communism, Nazism, and the Origin of the Species? After all, Mein Kampf his filled with quotes from Darwin, Lenin and Stalin kept copies of Darwin's book on their bedside table, Mao put statues of Stalin in Red Square. </sarcasm>

Going back 500 years to drag up something that is totally irrelevant today is typical of someone with no argument.

Are there Christians groups today doing ANY of the things none in the past?

Atheists must necessarily believe that humans are no better than the bugs that are smashed on your windshield on a summer’s night. They also believe that there is no reward or punishment beyond this life so if you have enough power or nerve, you can do ANYTHING with no retribution.

Now, are there ATHEISTS who are murdering people by the thousands today?

When the leadership of Communist dictatorships criticize their former leaders, they are not apologizing. For instance, the Soviets had no problems with terror, they criticized Stalin for turning the Soviet terror-state against his fellow party members. When Christian Germany apologized for Hitler, they did so because they were breaking with their Nazi past. Big difference.

And blaming Darwin for everything up to and including a rainy day is very typical of you.

I guess you didn't read my full post, which condluded with: "though I think it’s a dubious claim at best to suggest that Darwin’s natural selection theory is responsible."

“Darwin is one of the greats. Newton and Einstein are right up there with him.”

Oh, please. To put Darwin up there with Newton and Einstein is a joke.

Darwin’s ideas were built on speculation upon speculation. There is no way to test his ideas because they are based on one-time events.

Newton’s ideas were based on repeatable testing under controlled conditions — the foundation of the scientific method. Not so with Darwin. Darwin is based on ideas which cannot be tested.

Darwinism has been used as the moral justification for so many bad ideas. He was a moderately talented taxonomist, possibly a plagarist, and the biggest ‘useful idiot’ of all time.

“Darwin is based on ideas which cannot be tested.”

I guess that puts neither evolutionists nor creationists in a position to criticize each other for relying on faith.

"And what idea underpinned the Crusades...?"

Deposing Islamist terrorist despots of course. Not politically correct, but a fact nevertheless.
