As soon as weve caught our breath regarding Kadimas hairline win (according to exit polls only), the real story that emerges is the utter gutting of the Israeli Left, and the return of Likud.
Of the four major parties today, three of them are Likud and its spin-offs: Kadima was founded by Ariel Sharon and is mostly made up of former Likudniks; Yisrael Beitenus chairman cut his teeth as the head of the Likuds central committee.

The right picked up seats, but may have split their vote for the top spot, allowing the more liberal chick to win (according to exit polls).
Is this the party that likes to DEFEND?
Looks like the lib woman won. So where do you get you info.?
apparently she aint got it in the bag yet, the military votes make a big chunk and are outstanding and are expected to go Bibi’s way.
But the more conservatives will not join a coalition with her.
So if the conservatives stay together alls well that ends well
Just curious - is Ariel Sharon still alive. I hadn’t heard that he died. Last I knew he was in a coma.
the exit polls in israel have got it way wrong before and wait for the army votes.
Michael Medved’s brother in Israel reports that the Likud and right wing parties have at least 64 votes, and that Peres will ask Bibi to form the new government, not Livni.
Israel will be denied its first neo-socialist feminist lesbian Prime Minister. What a shame!
Israel has a Parliamentary system, and the winner will have to bring along a coalition to reach 61 votes.
This will likely be Netanyahu. The right wing block has increased in size tom 62-64.
Michael Medved is reporting that Israeli president Shimon Peres, will likely ask Netanyahu to form the next government.

Ariel Sharon is technically still alive, on machines, he had a massive stroke years ago and never woke up, so he is being kept alive on breathing machines, etc
How bad is she? Is she Obama-bad or just McCain-bad compared to Netanyahu? I thought I read she was a former Mossad agent- what happened?
The top spot being the position Bibi was running for.
She was of the opinion that Israelis are self-deluded and live in a imaginary world populated by Peace Niks. Glick was very upset. These events happened in a flash. She was railing about Obama and Iran. It appears to her that America has very weak allies in the World. The future is obviously at risk.
Voters everywhere lack the attention span of eight graders.
Kadimah is the party Sharon founded mainly with Likud members he took with him joined by some prominent supporters from Labor. Tzipi is basically Likud except she’s tries to give the impression she’s all things to all people to get votes. If she actually swings left many of her main people like Mofaz would return to the Likud. No centre party has succeeded in Israel in becoming permanent because they always fly apart.
The old left Labor was decimated and the hard left Meretz, which once was a major force, has gone down to four seats, which means only two seats from the entire country and two seats from the Mapam Kibbutzes.
The main difference between Likud and Kadimah now is that Tzipi is hostile to the religious parties extortions and that strikes a big chord among many Israelis.
Is Tzipi really a homosexual?
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
The collapse of the Left in Israel is really the big news here.
Similar to the collapse of the Socialists in France.
Will it be permanent? We can only hope.
