Specter, Snowe, Collins Anger GOP Base - (Freepers make the news!)

“Arlen Specter is DONE,” wrote a blogger named steelfish on the FreeRepublic Web site. “He won his last primary by less than 1 percent against a real conservative of Pat Toomey. And only because the President Bush came to PA and campaigned for him. He is DONE.”

Specter is up for re-election in 2010. Washington Republican strategists tell Newsmax this weekend that Specter's defection has sealed the deal: he will face a primary for the GOP nomination.

We have 3 Benedict Arnolds in the Senate and they’re Republicans...Benedict Specter, Benedict Collins and Benedict Snowe.

According to TN GOP and even Williams himself on the local news last night and this morning, he was kicked out of the Republican Party. He doesn’t seem to care, of course. But they all say he was booted out of the party.

A membership in any organization that can’t be revoked, is not a membership at all.

There is no “membership” in the Republican Party. Any Marxist on your block can register Republican and there isn’t anything you can do about it.

No, Williams was kicked out of the party. They can’t kick him out as speaker. He can not run as a Republican in the primary. There will be a Republican running for his seat. He can run as an Independent or as a Dem, not as a Republican.

I don’t know about Maine, but I do know about PA. This will guarantee a Conservative opponent in the primary. This time, he will likely get beat.

Arlen Specter always reminded me of Howard Sprague on the old “Andy Griffith Show.” My word, Specter sounds just like Sprague.

Yep! Thats what I always tell people too.

Not sure what you’re suggesting here, but 18 USC 115 may well apply. It would be a real shame if FR were determined to be some sort of conspiracy because of loose and unfortunate talk.

"This was said by me (2banana). Check out post #3 in the orginal thread."  You're correct!  You need to contact someone and let them know so all your residual checks will make it to you instead of Steelfish.  :-)

I don’t believe it is possible under our system of laws to deprive anyone of voluntary declaration of political party membership. Otherwise, we would have been successful in denying David Duke his well-publicized status as “Republican candidate” in Louisiana a few years ago (after, of course, having been a DEMOCRAT for 40 years). If Stalin were to come back and register as a Democrat, there’s not a thing anyone could do about it.

We have 59 Benedict Arnolds in the Senate; they’re called Democrats!

Glen Beck made a comment on his show last night. He said it is time to pick the apple from the tree, not the ground. Referring to supporting the young conservative repubs running for office.

"Loving it more every day... The reddest state in the country in November 2008."     No it wasn't.  Obama won at least four counties in TN.  McCain won 100% of the counties in Oklahoma.  Of course Tennessee is a much more beautiful state than OK.

“I think Specter is up in 2010, no?”

Good then! I won’t have to wait that long to help defeat him. Since Barry wants to take away my money, I’m going to spend it first and donate to anyone that is running against those who voted for this Porkulus bill.

I think post #80 is very clear.

Any questions?

As I was driving home yesterday, I hear Hannity talking with the Spectre, and he just couldn’t sufficiently explain why he was voting in favor of such a disgraceful bill. It was then that I realized it was because someone has feathered his nest for him. Yes, I believe the Dems and lobbyists bribed him. He, Collins, and Snowe. They prostituted their votes. We won’t know what the payoff was anytime soon, but it’s there somewhere.

Pennsylvania is a tough state.

It disproved Limbaugh's claim that true, proud conservatives always win.

Rick Santorum stayed true and proud and got crushed by Casey, the empty suit.
