I don’t believe it is possible under our system of laws to deprive anyone of voluntary declaration of political party membership. Otherwise, we would have been successful in denying David Duke his well-publicized status as “Republican candidate” in Louisiana a few years ago (after, of course, having been a DEMOCRAT for 40 years). If Stalin were to come back and register as a Democrat, there’s not a thing anyone could do about it.

It is possible under our laws. It's just not possible the way the GOP, and every other party in America except for America's Independent Party, is organized.

We've given a lot of thought to this matter in the last year or so. That's why we organized AIP the way we did, as a closed association, making full use of our First Amendment rights of free association.

To participate in AIP, folks have to sign a Personal Affiliation Agreement, one that promises strict adherence to America's founding principles and loyalty to the constitutional oath. If someone breaches that pledge, they're out. Period.

We reached the conclusion that the way these other parties are organized guaranteed that at some point they would become uninhabitable for principled Americans, in the same way that your house would become uninhabitable if you put a sign out front that said, "Everyone welcome, come right in." You might be okay for awhile, but once the word got around the squatters would drive you out.

You couldn't do anything about it if he decided to register as a Republican, either.

Don’t confuse “voters” with “candidates.”

Any “voter” can register republican. Believe me, Williams knows he was booted from the GOP.
