Good points. I hope Dr. Sowell writes a piece on tonight's Obama press conference. Obama got so many of the facts of history incorrect, including the real truth about what caused the Great Depression (which Dr. Sowell wrote about just recently), that I would greatly appreciate Thomas Sowell’s comments.

Was that an article or a book? The very first Sowell book (at the moment I can’t remember the name) I read in 1983 had a lot to say about President Hoover and the course he was taking to bring the country out of depression 1930-32. And according to Dr. Sowell’s evidence, it was working, and it was principally the private sector, including charitable organizations, that was bringing it out. It was a slow but “natural” course. Too slow, of course, for many.
