Al-Qaeda-linked movement militants have attacked citizens and threatened shop owners not to open their shops in Habileen and Hotah in Lahj south Yemen, the state-run 26sep.net reported on Monday.
Those outlaw militants closed a number of trade centers and schools in Habileen. They also demonstrated around the city rising secessionism flags and chanting separation logos. They broke in the local administration building in Hotah and got the national flag down. The militants also have committed riot acts as burning tires, cut the main road and shot fire on security men.
Two soldiers were injured as they were trying to separate the demonstrators, in addition to two civilians. As they gathered again and started riots, security men separated them immediately and seized eighteen rioters.

Dec 28, 2009
A passenger who flew into LaGuardia Airport on Sunday night was questioned by FBI agents after allegedly boarding the flight with an explosive device in his possession, CBS 2 has learned.
Officials confirmed Monday that a crew member on board Piedmont Airlines flight 4126, originating from Baltimore Washington International Airport, was cleaning the plane after it landed in New York around 7:30 p.m. when he found a large firecracker-like device wedged between two seats.
Port Authority officials contacted FBI agents, and the passenger from that seat location, identified as 67-year-old Thomas Ouelette, of Bonita Springs, Fla., was tracked down and taken into custody.

Thank you, O.
I think we have some real “pucker” times and events ahead of us.....especially with all these “isolated terrorists” trying to be bloomer bombers.
Security agencies in Britain are investigating reports that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the young Nigerian accused of attempting to blow up a transatlantic airliner, contacted radical Muslims while studying at university in London, The Independent understands.
Mohammed Mutallab, a cousin of the arrested man, has claimed that the 23-year-old came under the influence of extremist groups while in this country, and associates claim he visited the East London Mosque, which has attracted criticism for hosting Muslim hardline preachers, three times.

Al-Qaeda group in Yemen gaining prominence
Monday, December 28, 2009
SNIP from article:
The branch, known as AQAP, is still a work in progress, officials and analysts said. It is led by a new generation of Yemeni and Saudi militants keen on transforming Yemen into a launching pad for jihad against the United States, its Arab allies and Israel.
They have used Yemen's vast stretches of ungoverned, rugged terrain; loose-knit tribal structures and codes; widespread sympathy for al-Qaeda; and animosity toward U.S. policies to lure new recruits and set up training bases.
