Drone kills Taliban in Pakistan
A missile attack by a remote-controlled drone has killed at least 15 people in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region near the Afghan border.
Monday’s attack was the first in the Kurram tribal region and came two days after a missile strike in the South Waziristan tribal region killed at least 25 mostly Central Asian fighters suspected of having al-Qaeda links.
There was no confirmation on who was behind the missile strike but Pakistan has often accused the US military of targeting fighters in the border region with remote-controlled aircraft.
An intelligence official in the area said Taliban fighters “were holding an important meeting there when the missiles were fired” and a fighter from the area said those killed included Afghan and Pakistani Taliban.....

‘Bomb’ package was fake cash
Police are investigating security footage from the Ohio State Wexner Jewish Student Center after a woman left a suspicious package at the building Friday night.
The Columbus Fire Department’s bomb squad was deployed to the Jewish Center at 46 E. 14th Ave. late Saturday morning after a student reported an unattended suitcase near the front door of the building. Fire officials cordoned off an area about 500 feet from the suitcase before using a robot-controlled water canon to destroy the suitcase.
The suitcase contained a stack of photocopied $50 bills,.....

Internet a boon for terrorists, expert testifies
The Internet has become one of the most important tools for Al-Qa’ida and jihadists for recruiting, communicating and creating virtual cells and Saïd Namouh took full advantage of it, according to an American counter-terrorism expert who testified at the suspected terrorist’s trial Tuesday.
Rita Katz, co-founder of Search for International Terrorist Entities (SITE) Intelligence group that monitors jihad message boards on the internet in order to alert authorities, was called by the Crown to give her take on the myriad videos and messages RCMP officers found on Namouh’s computer when they arrested him in 2007 in a small Quebec town.
Although Katz’s testimony focused on the general behaviour of terrorists in the digital age, her 120-page report about Namouh, known as Ashraf online, and his involvement with the Global Islamic Meda Front, the propaganda arm of Al-Qa’ida, was submitted as evidence......
