I'm coming back from the deep end of frustration about "things I can do nothing about except read and pray." I bought three dozen jars for raspberry and strawberry preserves to work on this weekend. Busy will keep my mind occupied (smiling).

Najibullah Zazi, the Afghan accused of plotting to plant terrorist bombs in New York, travelled back and forth to Canada and Pakistan, U.S. government prosecutors said Friday.
The Globe and Mail has confirmed that Mr. Zazi travelled to Mississauga.
“Yeah, it’s the same guy,” said Maimoona Zazi, his aunt by marriage, who said she watched Mr. Zazi, a Denver bus driver, on television as federal marshals escorted him to a court appearance.
Last night, CSIS agents were knocking on the doors of homes of Mr. Zazi’s relatives in Mississauga, even as the government was refusing to say if its security forces were involved in the case.

Like so many old TM-ers I find myself drawn back again with all that’s been going on lately. The Dallas foiled plot hit very close to home for me. Also DH is travelling to Germany on business next week. Thank goodness he usually does not use public transportation there. (Although the driver his company usually uses in Frankfort is Middle Eastern!)

k im not up to par with politics/parties at all esp in europe..does anybody know about who got elected in germany and whether it was the party they wanted, if one? they usually favour the side that may want to pull out..
is anybody here fluent enough in german politics to maybe explain in 1-2 sentences, if the proper person won? (im thinking they have to have a withdrawl on their agenda for it to be the proper person)

Zawahiri brands Obama a criminal
Al-Qaeda’s second-in-command branded US President Barack Obama a criminal who turns a blind eye to the expansion of Israeli settlements, in an audiotape broadcast by Al-Jazeera television on Monday.
“Have we realised the truth of Obama the criminal, or do we still need more crimes to be carried out in Kabul, Baghdad, Mogadishu and Gaza to be sure of his criminality?” Ayman al-Zawahiri asked.
“Have we realised the lowliness of America under the leadership of the smiling and wooing Obama?” he asked in the recording which could not be immediately authenticated.
Zawahiri accused the US president of showing little interest in curbing the growth of Israeli settlements on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, while at the same time forcing Arab leaders to make further concessions to Israel.
“Obama leaves the settlements spread in the West Bank and around Jerusalem, showing little remorse, while he presses the surrendering (Arab) rulers to give in further,” he charged......
