GOP senators 'caved in' on stimulus, Paul says

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Former presidential candidate Ron Paul criticized President Obama's economic recovery proposal but said Saturday that blame for the financial crisis is deep-seated and includes Republicans who failed to hold the line on spending during the Bush administration.

He also offered a harsh critique of the three Republican senators who have said they will vote for the economic recovery proposal. A vote is scheduled for early next week.

Paul, a Republican representative from Texas who sought the GOP nomination for president, said that although some people call Obama's plan to jumpstart the economy a "stimulus package," he thinks it is a "pure spending package."

So, other than going on TV, what is he doing? Is he going around the Senate spurring Republicans to resist the bill? Is he actively working against this, maybe showing some leadership?

So, other than going on TV, what is he doing?

Paul was never on television very recently about this. This article is based on a YouTube video (found in the first post) that he posted online today.

Then all three of them would announce their switch to the Democrat Party the very next day.

The funny thing is, I wouldn't give a Rats @ss if they did, even if it meant giving Old Man Reid 62 votes.

I want to know who's on my side and who isn't. We'll just have to fight our way back to the top by voting our principles and having our Representatives communicate those principles so even the brain dead Obama voter will understand. Who will communicate for us is still a mystery. All we have is talk radio, and the censors are coming.

It's a shame that President Bush couldn't communicate effectively. He let the Rats and the Media shape his image and he did NOTHING to get the truth out.

BTW - Anyone seen any coverage of the Iraq election success? Didn't think so. The Sheeple are controlled by the Media, and they don't have a clue.

They didn’t only “cave.” They added much more pork to it.

Paul is correct once again. As more voters come to realize that the GOP has abandoned the core principles of the nation's founders, the more those people are going to look elsewhere for political leadership. Many of those republicans opposing the stimulus bill, in both the House and Senate, are doing so only because the bill is not their porkulus bill. Plus, they know the bill can pass without their support, so its easy to feign opposition.

The only thing L Ron Paul would have done different than Obozo is surrender us earlier to the enemy... L Ron Paul, best friend of the Far Left.

So how's the pay for being a shill? Do you get benefits too, or is it just an envelope of cash at midnight in the parking garage?

You, sir or madam, are a true waste of skin, air and other resources. I cannot recall a single post of yours which does not tear down and denigrate someone, usually conservative. You claim to have been close to Ronald Reagan, yet you tear down Ron Paul, who, IIRC, in 1976, was about the first and only Republican Congressman to come out FOR Reagan’s first bid for the White House. Quite frankly I am getting more than a little fed up with your self-righteous, anti-conservative and anti-Constitution attitude.

I hate how our GOP Congress Critters were spending like drunken sailors when they were in the majority, and now that they’re out of power they’re going to act like they’re fiscally responsible again?

While I agree that their spending was out of line, it pales in comparison to this Porkulus debacle. Remember, the so-called stimulus is above and beyond the already-bloated budget.

Once again, Ron Paul is correct, and he’s been correct and consistent on the economy throughout the current crisis (and for his many years in Congress).

Please list for me all legislation that Ron Paul was able to get passed?

Waiting.

Waiting.

Still waiting.

Still waiting.

Still waiting.

Words mean nothing. Zero proves that. Actions mean everything. I would rather follow someone that accomplishes 10% of what he sets out to accomplish than follow someone that talks a good story and accomplishes nothing. (Other than line his own pocket with money.)

And as for your comments about my sipping big government kool-aid: I will be at the last fight with guns. You will be cowering in the shadow of a small bush.

Oh right because he would find bin Laden and offer a white flag and then come home and do exactly the same thing with the economy that Obama is doing.

He has introduced legislation taking Roe v Wade out of the Court’s hands and yet this legislation has gone nowhere. This says a lot more about the rest of the GOP to me than it does about Paul.

If you support the Constitution and limited government and no one else does, I wouldn’t really expect you to get anything accomplished either. But I’d support you till the end.
