Wouldn’t a salute have been more appropriate?

But, first he stopped to shake the hand of the very startled, caught off-guard Marine who was standing at attention at the steps to the helicopter. What an idiot. Since he knows ZERO (Oh!! His name!!) about the military, he has ZERO concept about discipline and protocol and why it is out-of-bounds for him to do that!! He's their C-in-C, NOT a drinking buddy!!

I don’t believe salutes are the traditional greeting from a president. Especially when the president has never served.
I’m not military, It just seems like I’ve read that.

It must take every OUNCE of a Marines professionalism to stop themselves from cold-cocking this guy when he’s within range, LOL!

Yes a returned salute would have been more appropriate, the trouble is Obama doesn’t know American customs.

Of course the Marine was startled. He’s required by duty to stand at attention until the Commander in Chief is boarded. Obama broke protocol, like the idiot he is.
And of course Obama saw the Washington Monument. The jagged flight plan of Marine One goes fairly close to the monument as it flies right around it coming and going, because of all the restricted air space in D. C.

That marine is going to have his a$$ absolutely reamed when the commanders at 8th and I hear about this.
Leadership by example is expected, even if the president is the one needing the example. He should have saluted even if zero wanted to shake his hand.
What a punk we have in the white house.

Hire a street walker, get a street walker. Why is anybody surprised.
There is one word you will never associate with Obama and that word is character.

Attention to orders ... order of the day ... henceforth all senior officers shall respond to the salute rendered by an inferior grade not with a return salute but rather stop and shake their hand. That is all.
