For the millions of Americans who EARN their living, they are punished by the "free traders" with income taxes.

Whoa Dude! Free Trade <> Income Tax.

I can propose a vast number of alternative tax strategies that would encourage growth, protect workers, fund the government (less), and have nothing whatsoever to do with trade.

We can both hate taxes equally, and perhaps still disagree on one type of tax (tariffs). ;-)

Yes it does.

Another difference between Free-Trade and Protection is that Free-Trade lowers revenues and increases taxes, and Protection raises revenues by decreasing taxes. And that's some difference.
