For two years they fought for their rights to care for the children, whose 26-year- old mother is a recovering heroin addict.
They agreed to an adoption only after they faced being financially crippled by legal bills.
The final blow came when they were told the children were going to a gay household, even though several heterosexual couples wanted them.
When the grandfather protested, he was told: 'You can either accept it, and there's a chance you'll see the children twice a year, or you can take that stance and never see them again.'
The man said last night: 'It breaks my heart to think that our grandchildren are being forced to grow up in an environment without a mother figure. We are not prejudiced, but I defy anyone to explain to us how this can be in their best interests.'
Social workers themselves have admitted that the little girl is 'more wary' of men than women.
The case, in Edinburgh, raises worrying issues about state interference in family life.
It will also fuel concern over the practice of gay adoption, which has been promoted by Left-wing ministers and council bosses.
Some local authorities forbid adoption by smokers and obese people but actively support gay fostering and adoption - even though research shows overwhelmingly that children are best brought up by a mother and father.

Yes,, they were indeed “liquitated”. The police state has evolved. They realized they don’t need to murder people literally. Instead they humiliate you, or maginalize you as a racist, a homophobe, etc. They effectively neutralize you into subservience.
The old mass murder days was their “model-T” socialism model,, now it’s socialism arriving in a slick modern lexus.
Ask those people who saw their grandchildren given to a couple of queers if they feel liquidated. They got destroyed and would probably almost not care if they took a bullet. The socialists dont need to kill the body if they are sure they can kill your soul.

Its obvious that this social worker does not feel the slightest chance they would meet violence by doing this.
But few welling to pull the trigger....

I’ll give 5 to 1 odds that this same council would have backed down instantly if these kids came from a Muslim background.

Like I ask liberals who say “that can’t happen here” (or “it’ll work when WE try it”) -
how are OUR leaders that much smarter and more ethical than THEIR leaders are?
The next step will be punishing protest against these policies either as “racist” or “hate speech”. Look north to Canada for the example of prosecuting speaking out against policies like this.

This grandmother is not even so old she could not, possibly, had had a child at the age her grandkids were born.

The Adoption and the Safe Families Act, set in motion by President Bill Clinton, offered cash “bonuses” to the states for every child they adopted out of foster care. In order to receive the “adoption incentive bonuses” local child protective services need more children. They must have merchandise (children) that sell and you must have plenty of them so the buyer can choose. Some counties are known to give a $4,000 bonus for each child adopted and an additional $2,000 for a “special needs” child.
