Not beating Steele up here.

Just that he's not a conservative by any means.

Unless, of course, we are now equating conservatism to the likes of Lieberman, or Romney, as has been postured by some here on FR.

I may disagree with Steele on some things, but it remains to be seen what impact his views will have on his policies to loft solid Republicans into power.

I’ve seen Steele debate Democrats on a number of occasions, and he did a damned good job of it.

I’m not going to trash talk him before he reveals what his game plan is. He may turn out to be a very effective leader of the RNC, one that will advance our cause quite well.
