I think your analysis of the play is spot on. However, I haven't seen an assisting the runner penalty called in a game in years, even when blatant. So it would be odd if they called it there.

The fact is that many calls could have gone both ways, and the Cards got A LOT of breaks too. The holding call in the end zone, the overturning of Warner's first fumble, the fact that Warner took off his helmet to argue that call and wasn't flagged, the 80 non-calls on Gandy holding Harrison, Taylor's unsportsmanlike conduct on Boldin, etc. You just don't hear as much complaining about those calls because the Steelers won and because, well, their fans aren't a bunch of babies. I'm not referring here to Cardinals fans. All of the whining I hear is from Cowboys, Ravens and Titans fans who are upset about the shortcomings of their own teams.

I noticed, in college, the whole line can get behind the runner and basically push them into the end zone. (no penalty)

That one last night almost looked like a semi-handoff.

You brought up a good point...a team assisting its runner. The NFL needs to address this problem.

Either make it legal or call the penalty.

He’s pretty stoked. His hard work is starting to pay off. He was in that Dorito’s ad last year too, he was the dude who was duct taped to keep him from the chips, lol. I told him at least this year, you could recognize him, haha.

FAIL. Take some more time and come up with a better comeback. After the last retort, I expect better from you - more wit and sting. This one just seems contrived.

College doesn't call it either. Remember the Matt Leinhart TD a few years back against Notre Dame that Reggie Bush assisted him on?

Actually the Steelers are good overall. It’s the FANS that bother me. Insufferable. Think Yankee fans writ large.

Or Ohio State football fans. Beyond insufferable.

“Plus, the photos show that the Ben touchdown called back was actually a touchdown.”

Sorry, that was the right result. Didn’t make it. Knee down well before the ball hit the wire.

The Steeler Nation travels really well...and there are enough transplanted Yinzers all over the country to spur the local economy in any town the team plays. Even the NBC announcers said to was about 80 percent Black and Gold in the stands.

Hence the term "money team" in the previous post. It's the following, not the size of the metro area. One could make a similar (though less convincing) argument for a small town called Green Bay.

Bush hater, Bruce Springsteen looked very enthusiastic during his Half Time performance (but was hitting the mid and high notes about as sucessfully as John Kerry’s riverine operations in Nam or Tim Geithner’s shabby attempt to use TurboTax). After 3 songs he was wheezing like James Harrison after his big inteception right before the half (who later on showed his sportsman-side with the flagrant personal foul, late in the game).
Sadly, the 2 times I saw ‘the Boss’ perform over the last 9 years, he ALSO sounded like an aging rocker, AND he looked like he’d just been unclamped from the Guantanimo electrified ballsak machine. It’s amazing how outspoken celebrity Obama supporters outlook on life, can change A-hole lot, when their man gets in the White House.
I hope this description doesn’t violate the NFL’s strict rebroadcast policy (unlike their drug policy)... because I cared not, to get their permission.

I agree. Looked like the right result to me too. But there were photos that supposedly showed a shadow from his knee showing it was not on the ground (which would render the video evidence disputable and the call on the field would stand) My point is that both teams had close calls go their way. It was a great game and the teams on the field determined the outcome in the end.

You were 100% correct.

Mrs. Lurkin was rooting for the Cards and got quite all worked up.

I had said before the game to “take the Cards and the points” but predicted a Steelers victory. It was a nail biter!

Ooops.

They just flagged Arizona with a 15-yeard personal foul penalty for your song.

Instead of fourth down for Pittsburgh, it’s first-and-ten again!

One day, we will learn the not-too-secret truth about the NFL and the Steelers. It will be eerily reminiscent of the NBA scandals, and MLB.

At that time, I plan to rub in the fact that people tried to spin the obvious at times like this.

Just poorly coached

Agreed. The Titans are a poorly coached, over-rated team, who managed to blow their home-field advantage by foolishly turning the ball over 3 times against the Ravens.

calling a fumble on Kurt Warner

No, the last part of Warner's body to touch the football was his forearm. People don't throw with their forearm. And speaking of fumbles, remeber when the Titans lost two fumbles against the Ravens in the playoffs? That was great, since the Titans loss gave the Steelers home feild advantage for the AFC Championship game. To show what a good sport I am, I'll come up with a conspiracy for you. The Steelers paid off the refs to ignore the time clock during that Ravens 3'rd down conversion so the Ravens would win and the AFC Championship Game would be played in Pittsburgh.
