PITTSBURGH STEELERS VS. ARIZONA CARDINALS
6:00PM ET - NBC
Lonepalm,
Now that Hillary is SoS, will the curse be over?
Im going to NY for the exhibition games between my boys and your boys.
I saw McCain on ESPN while I was picking up my Bar-B-Q chicken. Yum Yum.
How did they do with the ice storm? That part of TN is beautiful !! Great for Fall getaways.
McCain or the chicken?
I voted for him but would not describe him as yum yum although he is nice looking for an older man.
Anyone else notice her childhood team hasn’t won in 101 years and her adopted team hasn’t won since she adopted them? Coinkidink I think not!
I thought about it but decided no because the whole Sunday thing is a tradition.
I thought the Roethlis burger girl was sick and wrong, but I think you just topped that.:-)
I hope they sing the WHOLE thing...
The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics
By Francis Scott Key 1814
Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
I hate the Steelers. Go Cardinals!
LOL!

I’m in the same boat as you. I have to go to work about the end of the first quarter. ;-(
Cards 17-14
After extensive research I have come up with 6 factors that are likely to determine who will win the SB. I have not heard these factors discussed anywhere else:
First a fact. Since 1966, 42 Super Bowls have been played.
1) Passer Rating:
Only in 3 SB’s has the QB with the lower PR won the SB (1997-Denver; 2003-New England; 2005-Pittsburgh)
Only twice in the history of the SB has a QB attained a 100+ PR and lost the SB (1978-Staubach; 2003—Delhomme)
The lowest PR by a winning QB was turned in by Ben Roethlisberger in 2005 (22.6).
2)Pass Attempts:
only in 8 SB’s out of 41 (1978 was tied) has the team who thown the most passes won the SB
only twice in 42 SB’s has a team thrown more than 40 passes and won (1999-Rams and 2003-Patriots)
no team has thrown more than 50 passes and won the SB
4) Rushing Attempts:
only in 3 SB’s out of 40 (2 tied) has the team with the fewer rushing attempts won the game
only 1 team in 42 SB’s has had fewer than 24 attempts and won the SB (1999-Rams (13))
no team that has rushed the ball 37 or more times has ever lost the SB.
5) Points scored:
only once in 42 SB’s has a team not scored 16 or more points and won the SB (1972-14 points)
no team had scored 32 or more points and lost the SB
6) Net Turnover figure:
there have been 9 SB’s where the net turnover figure is 0; out of 33 other SB’s only 3 teams have won the SB with a NEGATIVE net figure (1970-Colts (-3); 1979—Steelers (-2) and 2005 Steelers (-1)
7) Time of possession:
out of 42 SB’s 31 SB winners had the ball more than 30 minutes
no team except for the 1999 Titans has had the ball for more than 34 minutes and lost the SB.
Miscellaneous:
only 2 SB winners had more passing attempts and fewer rushing attempts than their opponent and won the SB (1988-SF 49er’s and 1999—SL Rams)
I Love You! What are you doing after the game!
Roseanne will be singing the National Anthem ;-)

Cardinals coach Ken Wisenhut said that if the Cards weren't in the Super Bowl he'd be rooting for the Steelers.
I've heard it said many times that Arizona is "Steelers west".
So I understand your anger - you're cheering for "Pittsburgh lite"!
!!! GO STEELERS !!!
I am FReeping from my phone @ work...so I will open the link when I get home. Two more hours til I am done...and can go home to my SB party.
Kurt’s such a stand up guy and refreshing change from the athletes who are out clubbing, drinking, and womanizing. He’s the type of guy parents can tell their sons to look up to without worrying.
it is a cover of Heartbreaker by some local Pittsburgh kids, customized to fit the Steelers. you’ll like it! my son had a hockey game at 11 am today, virtually killing all Mass options for us. so rather than go to 5:30 Mass and miss the kickoff, he and i are going to the 4pm SPANISH mass. i googled arlington diocese and checked every mass time at every church! LOL!
