While watching the barely-existent coverage of the ice storms in Kentucky that have the entire Kentucky National Guard mobilized, I cannot help but ask the following questions about the LACK of response from the Obama administration...and how it is a very close parallel to the Hurricane Katrina situation that was so harmful to the Bush presidency, only instead of a lot of black folks in danger, this time it's a lot of white folks...
Why aren't Kentuckians sitting on top of their houses, wailing at the constant whir of news helicopters for rescue?
Why aren't Kentuckians on TV demanding that the gummint save them, save them, save them?
Why aren't Kentuckians rioting, looting, boldly walking into shuttered convenience stores insisting that they just want food to survive and instead walking out with beer, wine and malt liquor?
Why aren't Kentuckians looting electronic stores for big-screen TVs?
Why aren't Kentuckians all being herded into a huge stadium where they will destroy the facility and murder fellow refugees?
Why aren't the big four TV networks, all the cable news channels and a herd of newspaper reporters there sticking cameras and mikes into their faces to demand that the gummint do something to save them?
Why isn't Kentucky's governor holed up in a safe area away from the weather?
Why isn't the state's largest city mayor holed up with the governor in a safe place away from the weather after having abandoned his city?
Why isn't Soledad O'Brien broadcasting live with her CNN ball cap and jaunty ponytail showing the poor, poor, poor low income people that Kentucky is famous for, barely surviving?
Why aren't Kentuckians demanding $2,000 debit cards from FEMA?
Why isn't the FEMA director being pilloried for not having his entire agency there helping?
Why isn't the mainstream media demandin to know why the president isn't there, on the scene, to help?
Why aren't Kentucky weather victims lining up for free FEMA trailers that they will then go to court to stay in two years later?
Why isn't the president being called on the carpet for racist behavior abandoning these people who so desperately need his help and being called a racist??
WHY???
I’m guessing that the gubmit figures white people won’t riot.
I really hate these rhetorical questions. Of course that’s the answer. *sigh*
Another good question thta I totally missed—why aren’t Kentickians rioting?
I don’t know about you, but after an ice storm the last thing I want to do is climb on the roof of my house.
Has the State of Kentucky asked the Federal government for assistance?
Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning could have stood up and asked O for his birth certificate when Cheney was counting the votes. They are cowards. Obama is a marxist.
Why? Because Kentuckians are smarter and more resourceful than the twits that stayed in NOLA.
Where’s Shep?
So I take it "Sultans of Swing" isn't on the WH playlist?
That MIGHT be a good question, but when that question was asked after Katrina, we were all told that the state of Louisiana shouldn’t HAVE to ask, it should all just happen, remember??
Rioting in the freezing cold has never been very popular.
Has Sean Penn come skating in yet with a big ass film crew to document what the mean evil George Bush has done to the people of Kentucky??????OH WAIT!!!!! George Bush isn’t the responsible head guy in charge....now who would that be???? B.Hussein Obama. You hate the people of Kentucky. You want the people of Kentucky to freeze. Shame on you mr. president.
ROFLMAO!!
We need the picture phot shoped of Sean in the dingy bailing out the water with a plastic cup...now in the ice storm!
I forgot that one too! Where ARE the hollywood glitterati? Why isn’t Sean Penn in Kentucky helping out the po’ folk? Is trying to sleep in a house with no electricity any easier in freezing temperatures than it is in 80 degree temperatures? I’d say it’s WORSE!
SEAN PENN! PAGING SEAN PENN!!
I was gonig to post something to this effect, then read yours. I'll just echo the sentiment.
I'm also having a hard time imagining Bambi flying over KY to view the damage.
I applaud the people of Kentucky and the Gulf Coast who have taken and took matters into their own hands. It is called what some POS said is responsibility. In the case of the scum bags of NO, the responsibility was never theirs in the first place. Not as long as they could place blame somewhere else....
