Kudos to you Michael. Now stand tall and proud. Be strong and push conservative principles. Do not falter and do not shrink from the fight against Obama and the Democrats.
That’s posturing. No where does he say he supports Roe. Roe is not a purview of the Senate but the SCOTUS. Why don’t you go on and read what he says about ESCR? So is Steele the first anti-ESCR and pro-abortion politician in history - I think not.
“But what he said isn’t pro-life.
And unless he appropriately clarifies, I can’t support him, and will likely quit the Republican Party.”
That is INSANE. Steele is a devout Catholic, pro-life to the core, a Knight of Columbus and former seminarian. I’ve heard he is a daily communicant as well. This is a good and decent man. And would be unheard of as a pro-abortionist. So much pro-life he is that he is also anti-ESCR unlike say Orrin Hatch or John McCain.
Did you quit the GOP when Ken Mehlman was Chairman?
Dear sitetest,
Snap out of it!! Steele is on OUR SIDE.
I’m guessing such witicisms as “He’s No-bama!” and “Oreos for the RNC” and “Pathetic how they’re trying to counter OUR black guy with THEIR black guy.”
The simple fact is the MSM will play with that for a few weeks, and then it will be a black guy criticizing a black guy, thus defusing all the hope the MSM had for Obama being bulletproofed on any subject because in the end they could ALWAYS whisper “racist”.
“Kennedy, Kerry, Harkin, and Pelosi are also Catholics. So what?”
It actually makes a huge difference if someone follows the path vs. those who ignore it.
Is Steele soft on gun rights? That would be a big let down if true.
You can be assured that the treatment will not be kind, or even fair.
Congratulations Michael Steele on your RNC appointment. You start off with Republican Party members eager for leadership and anxious to know what is being done by our party to confront the socialists who have taken over the US government. I confess to ignorance of just what the duties of your job are. For instance, are you in a position to insist that Republicans receive money equal to that being given to ACORN in the stimulus package? Publicity would be good tho chances of us getting it are zilch. Can you prevail upon elected Republicans in the congress to introduce legislation to enact voter ID for national elections? If my vote is not going to be protected from cancellation by fraudulent votes, why should I bother to vote? I am ready to support the RNC financially as soon as I am convinced that practical measures are being taken to strengthen and protect voter rights. Republicans had to have known about ACORN activities for years now and still did not counter their activities of voter manipulation. It does no good to go after illegal voting after ballots are counted and that has to be common knowledge by now. You have a tough job ahead and I wish you the best in you endeavors.
Who did the AIP elect as their nat’l chairman?
Me.
Some people can never be pleased.
Congratulations!
Thank you.
Please keep us in the loop about what y’all are doing, as much as you can.
I will. The best place to follow things is at AIPNEWS.com. If you’re not affiliated you can’t post, but you can read to follow what we’re doing. Thank you again.
“Inalienable rights are inalienable everywhere, because God gave ‘em, not men.”
Absolutely FRiend. Bears repeating.

I thought he was a solid conservative... until I heard him talking at length on the radio. He's a bad pick, way too RINO-friendly.
Gotta love those "perfect conservatives" who did not vote in the election, because the candidate was not "conservative" enough.
I'm not claiming that, no. Our party motto is a quote from our first and last Independent President, George Washington: "Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the hands of God." We'll do the best we can to do our part to help save our country and then see what happens.
Just one question. As the AIP Chairman, do you use your real name or insist on being addressed by the party faithful as Eternal Vigilance?
My real name is no secret around here. That's been true for nearly nine years. My agenda, and that of AIP, is an open one and is spelled out on my homepage.
I guess since he's been elected RNC chairman, we no longer have to guess, or believe or not believe. Now we begin watching to see what he actually does.
And I'm not opposed to moderates and RINOs being elected from the northeast, or other very blue areas. RINOs are far preferable to Dems (with the exception of a backstabbing grandstander like McCain). But RINOs and moderates will not win any presidential elections, and allowing moderates from blue states to pick our nominee (as they did McCain) and have too much influence in the party is a recipe for more elections like 2006 and 2008.
And there has never been a more disastrous political strategy than the Bush/Rove/McCain pandering to Hispanics strategy. We need no more pandering to specific groups by the Republican party, or its leadership.
