Dawson 62 Steele 60 Anuzis 32 Blackwell 15
>>They said the main knock on him is that hes not actually a member. ...not a member of what? <<
The Fox talking head said he’s not a member of the RNC.
I don’t...I love that he’s there. I was being sarcastic about the libs being happy that we pick someone black to lead the RNC.
Hua? Okay... Talking head is a dork.
He’s not pro life, weak on 2nd amendment, a loser as a candidate in MD
There is a decision making process that is involved in joining any organization. I will have to tell you that I would be aware of it if Blacks were not allowed to join a club I was about to join.
I don’t know this guy. I’m not going to trash him. I’ll let his actions speak for themselves. Part of those actions for better or worse, are that he joined a ‘No Blacks Need Apply’ organization.
I don’t think he’s black anymore.
Comical, isn’t it.
Considering the vast number of issues and votes, virtually everybody will be a RINO on something.
If they are right 90 percent of the time, that’s good enough for me. Steele is very solid.
Apparently some view his Holder acquaintanship/friendship a deal breaker. I don’t. Being friends doesn’t mean you support a person’s political philosophy.
No...................................................................................ob.
Would it really be that difficult for you to get your facts straight before condemning Steele? He is neither pro-choice nor anti-gun. Do some reading, for Pete’s sake.
I find this troubling too. I’ve also heard some rumblings regarding his stance on certain types of weapons.
I have liked what I have heard him say when he was appearing on FoxNews. I would hope he is the real deal. Your article does not convince me of that.
We will have to see how it goes.
I will say that if Steel is asked to support strong Conservatives he will. Those people more often than not feel the way you do about right to life. That’s my take on it. I don’t think he is going to talk down right to life as the head of the RNC.
If he does, you and I are going to take him on together.
I read it and I posted it. Perhaps you should read this whole thread?
Of course you are twisting what that page says.
Please do a search and you’ll find a lot of people including Freepers were supporting Steele a few years ago when Bush stupidly went with Martinez. You don’t like this choice? Fine. But stop attributing it to skin color as if this movement sprung up over night on his behalf. It did not.
I twisted nothing!
Is the transcript of the Russert interview twisted too!
Wrong again. I saw that he said he is realistic in realizing Roe is here to stay.
That doesn’t mean he would not vote for conservative judges that would overturn Roe if given the choice or appoint them if given the choice as president.
It only means that since Roe has been here for 30 years, it is darn near settled law and to get a change, the court must change. Working against Roe without the court changing is not very effective, so incremental things can be done in the mean time, such as not publicly funding abortion etc.
Russert ask him flat out if Roe V Wade should be overturned and he said NO!
I, too, am amused by their lack of faith. Our solidarity against the trillion-dollar boondoggle really set them off ... They are genuinely worried about 2010, because they know history is on our side. Same-party presidents traditionally lose a shitload of seats in the first mid-term.
SO ... a 35-seat swing in 2010 leaves a slim 8-seat majority 221-213 (1 current absence by Rohm Ernst, er, Rahm Emanuel, likely to go to a Donk; BUT expect Gillibrand to be replaced by a Republican, so make that 221-214) - the Donks know they get one shot at trojan-horsing socialism in this bullshit trillion-dollar boondoogle before we're back to peeling away enough Blue Dogs to shut them down past 2010.
This is the strategy we must follow. Support a conservative first, and if you can't find a conservative, screw your make-nice coward RINO and support your Blue Dog. WE CAN STOP BARRY-PELOSI-SCHUMER COLD IN 2010.
I read the whole thread, and the other balloting threads, thank you. Your “contributions” say much that I’d rather attribute to klansmen than a conservative.
MR. RUSSERT: "But whats your position? Do you want them to sustain it or overturn it?"LT. GOV. STEELE: "Well, I think, I think, I think Roe vs. Wade, Roe vs. Wade is a, is a matter that shouldve been left to the states to decide, ultimately. But it, it is where it is today, and the courts will ultimately decide whether or not this, this gets addressed by the states, goes back to the states in some form or they overturn it outright."
...
LT. GOV. STEELE: "I do support stem cell research. Where I have drawn the line is federal funding for research that destroys the embryo. And, and I've been very much an advocate and supporter of advancing research that will allow us to do the - do what we need to do without destroying that, that embryo."
MR. RUSSERT: "Why are you opposed to using embryonic stem cells? Taking of a life?"
LT. GOV. STEELE: "Yes, I see that as a life, and I don't think that we should use federal funds to do that."
