I had never thought of it as a heresy. I’ll have to think on it.

I wrote to GGG several weeks ago that the two greatest heresies are (1) Gnosticism -- very prevalent and growing; and (2) Young-Earth Creationism.

Gnosticism keeps people in the church from truly knowing and walking with God.

Young-Earth Creationism is such a huge denial of reality that it keeps people from becoming Christians. If Christians are telling lies about science, then how do the lost know that they are not teaching lies about the nature of God and how Jesus died for our sins so that we may have eternal life and fellowship.

I saw Hugh Ross several years ago. How do I say this politely.....he was not in command of the facts.

I've never seen him or a video of him. I do know that his credentials are rock-solid and that his books are well-researched and well-written. I've loaned his books to many -- believers and unbelievers alike -- and every single person has returned them to me with good reviews.

Perhaps Ross is uncomfortable speaking in public or mangles his sentences. Moses was not a good speaker, George Bush did not do well with teleprompters, and Obama almost makes me want to believe him. If Ross is not good at speaking in public, I'm not going to slam him for it.

What is so tragic is that DallasMike used one of Hugh Ross’s many misrepresentations of the early church fathers (Augustine in this particular case) as an authority to lable biblical creation as heresy. As it turns out, Augustine was referring to old-earth/”pagan” compromisers (such as Hugh Ross) as heretical. When I pointed this out to DallasMike, he just moved on to his next slur against biblical creationists without acknowledging his (and Hugh Ross’s) error. DallasMike is just one in a long list of gullible non-Reasons to Believe devotees who follow Hugh Ross’s heretical teaching and get themselves into trouble.

It wasn’t Hugh Ross. It was the leading Creation scientist of the nineties. He didn’t seem to understand chemistry or physics.

I saw him at Washington University and his presentation was not at all what I expected. Full of major errors.
