Winchester, KY here. Been without power since Wednesday, and it’s expected to dip into the single digits tonight. We’ve been using the fireplace for the last two nights, but we’re running out of wood, and it’s getting harder to find.
Sucking it up and moving Mom and the kids to the Hampton Inn for the next two nights at least. Hoping the power comes back soon.

Besides, Shep Smith or Jerry Rivers would fall on the ice and still blame George Bush.

You mean snow? Or maybe just COLD temperatures?
I could do without both. The older I get the more I understand why people spend winters in deep South states like Florida.

LOL. I’ll throw the Southern barbeque ribs on the grill!!!
Seriously, my poor friends in Louisville are tired of camping out. Both have health problems, so I worry about them.
They had several trees down, and attempted to get a younger neighbor to Home Depot to buy them a generator. He said HD told them they had sold them out. I sure am glad this storm missed us.
Hope all the Kentucky freepers are accounted for and okay.

Would it help for them to go online and order a generator from Home Depot? I realize they need it now, but they could get it in a few days from online ordering.

So not only will the groundhog NOT see his shadow, he won’t even be able to see his PAWS.

I know the very generators of which you speak, lol. Life has been one big wild-goose chase from Haroodsburg Rd. in Lex Home Depot to Nicholasville and everywhere in between.
I sent the family back home to Oklahoma and I had been living in 35 degree temps all week up until a few hours ago. Take care of yourself :)

So not only will the groundhog NOT see his shadow, he wont even be able to see his PAWS. The Groundhog probably wont even come out of his hole this winter. Next winter he will be frozen solid.

During Katrina the Shrimp was drunk as a skunk partying up on Bourbon street. After Katrina blew through he actually made the observation that it appeared that New Orleans had weathered the Hurricane with few problems. Alcohol and Bad Weather definitely do not mix well. Now if you are trying to stay warm, some nicely aged whiskey might help.

I remember him standing in the middle of Bourbon street saying everything was fine, just a few shutters missing off some windows. Didn’t know he had had a few cocktails before making that announcement. LOL!

Any reports on how many people are still without power? Anyone seen any FEMA people?

Just assuming he was drunk because only a drunk would have stated what he stated.
Will hunt around tonight for info on the powerless.

Regarded as sub-tropical and tropical. Largly dependent on temperature variations and sinking air in the troposphere. The action this weekend has been downgraded, as the haymaker in the gulf is progged faster and weaker.

Looked like a good chance of snow, but the forcasters are showing uncertainty.

It’s hardwired into the box. I suppose there is probably a way to rig it, but I’m just a girl.
