That seems to be an immediate red flag, but what if she’s the only one paying attention? It’s the same voice, so perhaps her 4 YO is being used for the scam. OTOH, there was no mention of a lawsuit, which is the usual motivation for a hoax. Maybe she just needed her 15 minutes. Or Islam is after the children. Hmmm, toss up.
Considering that the first reports about the doll had nothing to do with this woman, and reports were coming in from ALL over the country about this doll I don’t think this is a hoax. Rather, I think she called the media immediately because of the fact that this is not ONE, but TWO popular childrens’ toys that feature the same voice, and the same phrase. It could be brushed off as an unfortunate “accident” with the first doll, IMHO. But seeing as this sounds like the EXACT same track playing — something is VERY fishy about that, IMHO.
