The government may save money over the next 5 years by eliminating babies. But when it comes time to figure out how to support social security there will be less hope than there is now.

Pelosi is a mother of 5 ... poster child for rank hypocrisy.

Add Pelosi to the pile of people under the bus.

Please don’t change article titles - it leads to duplicated posts and general confusion in the forum.

a) As another thread suggests, this was all a canard to deflect attention away from other aspects of the bail-out.

b) However, they will add it on somewhere else at another time.

c) This is ala Malthus, who,as WSJ explains today, was WRONG.

Question: How many Americans do not have access to BC? It has got to be verrrry small. And frankly, having worked in an OB clinic, those who should not have children, do not care enough to prevent pregnancy.

SS is structurally unsustainable. In 1950 there were 16 workers for every retiree, today there are 3.3, and by 2030, there will be two. The program is not worth saving, but if it is, taxes must be raised and benefits reduced. I suspect that more and more SS will become a means tested program. By 2017, SS goes into the red, i.e., it pays out more than it is taking in.

The US will increase its population by 135 million within the next 40 years. Two-thirds of the increase will come from immigration. Currently, our fertility rate is 2.1, right at replacement level.

Folks, step back a bit... well, more than a bit, and see the big picture.

The left is ANTI-FAMILY. When the family is the core sovereign entity in a society, people don’t need government.

Also, the family is THE way, historically, to pass on traditional values. Values which are antithetical to most leftist (and Satanic) ideology.

What Repubs SHOULD be screaming about is the $ 1 billion + going to ACORN, a known criminal organization. ACORN is the real enemy of the country but no one is brave enough to say so. If ACORN keeps growing, the next presidentail election will also be stolen by voting fraud. Call me paranoid, but I am certain Obama would not have “won” without the several million votes stolen by ACORN.

With all the layoffs, I predict a population explosion in about eight or nine months. After all, what better way to spend an afternoon?

"How can you spend hundreds of millions of dollars on contraceptives? How does that stimulate the economy?"

And if you can't justify it here, how can you justify it overseas?

I have nothing against contraceptives at all, but do not think this belongs in the bill.

This sounds like one of those things they put in only to take out and appear “bipartisan”.
