Not a direct criticism of RL but I’m wondering if he’s whistling past the graveyard with respect to the economy. I see sales pitches asking for EIB advertisers on his site.
He occasionally reminds us that he has never increased the commercial load during his show but there are a few items to note in the last year or so...
- He mentioned in passing that the breaks in the first half of each hour have been rearranged. I don’t know if this is to delay the old :14 break or for another purpose.
- The pseudo-conversational mentions of advertisers and their products is far too obvious not to notice and frankly an insult to the audience’s intelligence he claims to respect. The mentions have increased in frequency and are even being placed as the lead item some hours. “I had cold symptoms but I used a Zicam” etc. He wasted a long segment one day on a shaggy-dog story that ended up being another tankless water heater plug. We already have one Paul Harvey, Rush, thanks all the same.
Rush just nailed what 0’s advisoers are coaching him on.
I don’t think they’d go that far. After all, if they do that, they’ll lose the votes of the welfare moms and their baby’s daddies. Illegals, etc. Who are they going to bus in then?
Maybe they’ll just limit the number of children conservatives can have?
Understandable, he is truly a piece of work.
Rush is right that O wants to marginalize conservatives, and separate them from the GOP.
Hence the dinner at George Will’s, in which he gathered together (mostly) “moderate” Republicans and excluded people like Rush.
There is not an advertiser anywhere that has not been slammed by the downturn in the economy. It’s one of the first things businesses look at. That and labor.

Buying a jet is a long term process.. some take up to 4 or 5 years from purchase to contract to build. Is it possible that there is no way for TARP recipient to Back OUT of the Deal, after the quick downturn of the economy?

I have been wondering when inflation would be a factor. Of course, Rush is right that Obama’s “stimulus” is political rather than sound economics. The spending seems to be designed to kick in around 2010. Hmmmmm.....

So, the same firm that redecorated Merril Lynch’s office has been hired to redecorate the personal quarters for the Obamas in the White House? This is getting good!

McLAME, Grahamnesty, and the rest of the GANG of 14 (or whichever) did a good enough job at separating the Conservatives from the GOP... me being ONE of them.
