So if they are banned from U.S. soil, they could be sent to Massachusetts or Illinois.

“Closing Guantanamo Bay presents a clear and present danger to all Americans," said House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Lamar Smith. "These suspected terrorists must now be relocated and if they are transferred to military prisons in the U.S., they automatically will be granted rights far beyond those given to enemy combatants by any other country."

Truer words were never spoken.

No doubt this is from The Onion.

The Pubbies aren't smart enough to oppose 0bambi. They're too busy wishing the King success for His reign.

Republicans could have written this legislation in 2001 when the Gitmo prison was established.

This is an effort that will die in the Democrat controlled congress. It will never get through the Senate.

Over the weekend, John McCain said in Iowa, "One of the things I would do, the first day I am President of the United States, is close Guantanamo Bay. I would close it and I would move those prisoners to Fort Leavenworth. It's become a symbol, which is very bad for America."

Idiots.
There does not seem to be a realization that this country is at war. I expect this stupidity on the left but I'm just scratching my head when its on the right.

It may be that there is valid national security reasons for someday bringing some of these folks here. Politicians passing legislation that says none can come is lunacy

Exactly! Let the RATs and ZERO own this as 58% are opposed to GITMO being closed. I am so glad McCain is not the President even though I cannot stand ZERO. I would rather be a member of the loyal opposition.

“The result is that many will petition friendly federal judges who may order their release into U.S. communities,” he continued.

The legislation, known as the Enemy Combatant Detention Review Act, has the backing of Minority Leader John Boehner and other prominent House Republicans.”

Boehner seems to have awoken from his tanning bed stupor.

His wet finger caught a bit of breeze ... this is not leadership, it’s pandering.

Wait till you lose the farm before you stand up for your principles. Brilliant strategy by the GOP.
