President Commutes Sentences for Ramos & Compean on Final Day of Office
U.S. Border Control [usbc@usbc.org] ^ | 01/19/2009 | Edward I. Nelson

Dear XXXX:

After making them suffer two long and painful years in solitary confinement in a maximum security prison, President Bush, on his very last day of office, having received more than five million emails, letters, postcards and telephone calls from citizens all across the country, finally commuted the sentences of Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos and Jose Compean, two brave and decorated Border Patrol agents, improperly charged with the non-crime of using a firearm as they stopped a drug dealer from bringing in more than 700 pounds of narrcotics into the U.S.

Please accept my thanks for your great effort in working for the release of these two men who can now reunite with their families and begin their lives over again.

Two who should probably be in jail, instead of R & C, should be Johnny Sutton....who aided an illegal alien drug dealer and covered it up (giving the illegal alien drug dealer free border passes...using them to haul in more drugs)

Also, the drug dealers cousin, who was a Border Patrol agent serving in Arizona...who helped DOJ locate and cover up the drug dealer.

What has crippled the GOP is the liberal element who value the rights of illegal aliens over the rights of American citizens.

The GOP cant win the Hispanic vote courting illegal aliens. John McCain is one of the most pro-illegal Senators, and won 1/3 of the Hispanic vote. Dumb strategy

The GOP needs to dump its pro-illegal/anti-American element....it causes conservatives to stay home election day...and it insinuates to Hispanics that all Hispanics are “illegal” and must be nice to illegals to get their vote

There are a couple of others in the DEA and DOJ that knew full well the illegal perps history and actions leading up to, during and after charges were brought against R&C...

Sorry, it's the thumb-sucking element of the conservative wing which stayed home in ‘06 and ‘08.

And we'll be staying home again in 2010-2012 if the GOP doesn't get its crap together, I refuse to vote for anymore RINOs.

The last time I checked the GOP does not "own" the conservative vote, although they think they do.

By throwing your best of the best up for election... eg: your "mccains" and other RINOs, you defeated yourselves... if your party wants the conservative vote... earn it!

Only one person that is responsible for the obama win and he's leaving office...

Fine, then figure out how to get your purer-than-driven-snow conservatives to start winning some primaries. But, if ya can't and they don't and you continue to stay home, I'm gonna continue to blame you, not GWB.

Is that the one the men with the little butterfly nets brought for you?

That would be why I’m a proud new member of the Conservative Party.

Typical comments like yours are why people, both GOP loyalist and former supporters are abandoning the GOP in droves... so go down with your ship or try to save it... as for me I’m taking my little dingy and sailing elsewhere.

NA NA NA ;-)

If you shot a drug smuggler in the butt, where I live, you wouldn't get a prison sentence. One of your relatives would take you to a Cracker Barrel for a celebratory meal. The Intellectual Redneck

Why is it that when the GOP puts up the most pro illegal immigrant, pro campaign finance restrictions, pro bailout, pro getting along with the scum bag left, pro tax and big government solutions RINO.......the very antithesis of Ronald Reagan....and the man loses, guys like Cedric BLAME THE CONSERVATIVES LIKE US ??

I would like to remind these fools that it is because those of us who kept our principles in 1976 and sat home because Ford was a Rino and gave the election to Carter, THAT WE BEGET REAGAN in 1980..... and those of us who sat home in 2000 and refused to support that Rino GHWB, WE BEGET THE GINGRICH REVOLUTION in 1994......and now with the election of BO lets see what will come of our standing on priciple once again..........PRINCIPLE ABOVE PARTY....THEN , NOW , AND FOREVER !

If they had committed a crime, why did the prosecutor failed to tell the court that their star witness who they had already let go on the first charge was arrested just before his appearance in court by the DEA for smuggling a similar amount of drugs into the U.S. And at the time the “gentleman” was apprehended he was carrying a pistol. Possibly the same pistol that he was carrying when Ramos and Compean attempted to arrest him.
By the way had this come up at the time of the trial, more than likely both men would have been freed.
