I heard this on the news, but when he said, “new declaration of independence”, I thought that I heard wrong. That’s what he actually said!
That blabber about a new declaration of independence is something for his adoring masses and simply a rhetorical tool. Not much more to it than that. He’s got to keep his adoring masses pumped up..., doncha know... :-)
As far as this “Organizaing for America” — it might pay for Republicans to organize their people along the same lines. That’s all Obama is doing — keeping a “going organization” of political operatives. The Republicans can very well do the same thing.
I wonder how long it will be before our money reads...................
.................................... “In Obama We Trust”.
Ping.
#13, too.
His transportation secretary has his papers on hold for the time being. (Hint - think Chicago mob).
Dang, I forgot, his CIA appointee’s daughter is in bed with South American crooks.
Just like he wants a new constitution.
Oh yeah, and I can guarantee you half the country will go with the “NEW” Constitution, because they think like Whoopie Goldberg, that the “old” one says slavery is ok.
The reigns of a Free Republic have been handed off, without a fight, to its historic adversaries and enemies.
The ignorance displayed at the ballot box has indeed lead us to the next level. Will patriotism be enough to defeat the harm that has been done? Or will the citizenry admit defeat, crawl away, and allow this abomination destroy our Heritage?
I call for a Declaration of Independence from Zer0!
Maybe someone should re-read the original Declaration to Obama.
Horrendous and terrifying BTTT.
If you believe that the “citizenry” will (including most Republicans) every stand up again and show any patriotism then please send me a post card when you reach Wonderland.
This is how freedom dies to a standing ovation on Jan. 20th.
Given his background and his camaign themes, I'm sure that's what he meant.
“Organizing for America”? Maybe it should be called “Organizing Against America,” considering his background and where he’s leading us. Just remember that, in all probability, he is not even an American citizen.
How can you make such a generalized statement? Obviously, some ideologies are bad - like Nazism, Communism, Islamism - and some are good.
Exactly... If a "CW2" is ever started, I'd be more than surprised to see more than two percent getting involved with it. Lots of brave talk out there. Brave talk means squat if the flag goes up and everything that defines you is on the line as was such with our Founding Fathers... Something like "Lives, Treasure, and Honor".
No, ideology is bad, per se. Any ideology tries to fit broad swaths of human existence into a mould made of ideas and ideals. It necessarily overruns the particularities of human nature, redefines natural institutions in its own terms, and then tries to impose that abstract structure on human society.
Conservatism is opposition to ideology, per se. It represents accepting of human nature as it is—fallen, corrupted, still-more-corruptible, but underlyingly good—as the starting point for organizing society, not some purported shining future. It recognizes that wisdom of the past, and will discard existing social structures only very reluctantly in the face of new circumstances.
Conservatism begins with reality and seeks to improve it incrementally, since it acknowledges the ‘law of unintended consequences’. Ideologies, all ideologies, begin with an ideal, and blunder toward it heedless of reality.
