I get the distinct impression that he is choosing his words carefully when speaking about Obama; telling the public it will be all right, but he doesn't really mean it.

I agree, it does seem like he's choosing his words. But the feeling I get is that he's telling us that whatever zero does or doesn't do in the next two to four years, America is strong enough to surivive it.
