Stages in the evolution of a star, culminating with its collapse into a black hole, accompanied by the emission of massive amounts og gamma ray bursts (lower image)

‘The emission is believed to be about 11 billion years old,...’
I think Helen Thomas covered that explosion as a ‘cub’ reporter....

OK, it went “boom” 11 billion years or so ago... on a Monday, no doubt.
When was it recorded here? A few days, months ago? More?

Helen Thompson may be the source of the emission. It's common knowledge she is a very gassy person. In her youth some referred to her as "Toots" and they weren't being sexist.

Significant in this is that the age of the Universe might now be reported as 11 billion years.
Can anyone provide details on the measurement technique?
“Only recently has truth begun to triumph. Continuing research in many fields is finally sorting fact from fiction” ... Words written on a small-lettered inscription found in California’s Death Valley Museum.

Do gamma rays travel faster than visible light or the same?
11,000,000,000 times 6,000,000,000,000 = Miles from Earth?
To: TexasCajun
The same. Nothing travels faster than light. It’s the law...........
