Ridiculous warning on Dairy Milk chocolate bars that it 'contains milk'
The Daily Mirror ^ | Laurie Hanna

Posted on 01/12/2009 12:55:59 AM PST by indcons

It's chocolatey and creamy and, Holy Cow, Cadbury's Dairy Milk is made from... milk.

Just in case you didn't guess from the name, the firm is printing a warning on packs that screams in capitals: "CONTAINS: MILK".

The bestseller - whose TV ads boast of "a glass and a half of milk in every bar" - already has milk at the top of its list of ingredients.

But now wrappers rolling off the production line at its Bournville factory will also feature the separate warning.

It's just in case people who are allergic still don't know.

Bars of Dairy Milk Whole Nut will also warn "CONTAINS: NUTS, MILK".

And on boxes of Cadbury Heroes it appears four times.

The firm insisted: "We are meeting legal requirements."

But food allergy advisors the Anaphylaxis Campaign, said: "They're stating the obvious."

Well, you can't blame them for thinking the world's gone moo-d.

Next thing you know, they’ll put a warning on Grape Nuts cereal indicating that it contains grapes and nuts. Oh, wait...

Whenever I think of Grapenuts, the old SNL skit comes to mind about the cereal made of rocks. It was done in 76 so I was 9 at the time, but I still remember so many of those skits. Couldn’t find the video, but here’s the transcript:

From www.strangecosmos.com -

STUPID WARNING LABELS!

"How dumb do companies think we are? From the looks of the warning labels they slap on their products, they must believe we're complete morons!

Here, we've collected some of the most ridiculous advice from smartypants manufacturers:

•Sleeping Pills -- Caution: May make you drowsy.

•Stroller -- Remove infant before folding for storage.

•Microwave Oven -- Do not use for drying pets.

•Toilet Bowl Cleaning Brush -- Do not use orally.

•King Size Mattress -- Warning: Do not attempt to swallow.

•Can of Insecticide -- This spray is harmful to insects.

•TV Dinner -- Remove plastic wrap cover before eating.

•Hardware Store Rotary Drill -- This product not intended for dental purposes.

•Disposable Diapers -- Dispose of after use.

•Electric Cattle Prod -- For use on animals only."

What’s worse is the TV ads for birth control pills that tell you they don’t prevent STD’s or AIDS.

Just great. Next they'll have to label Girl Scout cookies "WARNING: Contains Girl Scouts."*

It’s not the company’s fault...Government intervention is to blame. You get the government you pay for and Democrats pay more than the average intelligent voter. Soon there will be warning labels for warning labels. Remember, your Government thinks you are too stupid for mere descriptions.

Sign of the times

Stupidity Runs Rampid among our society

Public Schools are an infestation of stagnaminity you cant learn to walk unless you first stand and our educational system prevents our populace from standing unless your held up on both sides by people who are willing to hold you up.

Where are the Grahm Bells,Edisons and Franklins those who weren’t afraid of stepping into the wind to test it’s Verasity?

Stepping into the drug forefront look at medicines that are supposed to help you with everyday life the warning labels on those are more horendous than the drug itself.

Next Ice cream will be labeled “May cause explosive anal Seepage”

Sugar should read “Dangerous” we know it’s not good for you but eat it anyway we have have diets and drugs to counteract the addiction !

“Just my 2 cents “ and thats not at face value anymore !

I still love the signs on gas pumps that warn you not to ingest the gas.

I'm glad those warnings are there, because sometimes I'm a little thirsty when I stop to fill up. I'll be just about to take a swig off of the nozzle and then I'll see that sign posted. Whew!

I don't believe they put them on flies yet. They should put them on mosquitos though.

•Stroller -- Remove infant before folding for storage.

Actually... I once did that. I was so tired I was half asleep. A warning label wouldn't have helped - the objections of the infant did. But it can happen.
