Global cooling is upon us
Grand Rapids Herald Review ^ | January 7, 2009 | Tony Kotula

Editor:

Snowstorm, in Houston, New Orleans, and Las Vegas are occurring, yet planet worshipping fools are still promoting a "Global Warming" agenda! There was a warming period from the mid 1970's to the late 1990's, but since 1998 the average global temperature has been in decline.

The climate of the Earth has always been, changing and it has little or nothing to do with C02 levels in the atmosphere. Currently, there is a record amount of manmade carbon dioxide in the air, and yet we are seeing one of the harshest winters ever. Any change in the climate may have more to do with sunspots and other solar activity rather than anything man could possibly do. Just when the average American is beginning to enjoy lower energy costs, the "Hope and Change" administration is planning huge tax increases on gasoline, diesel and our utility bills to bring as more into line with Europe's system. I like visiting Europe, but would never want to live there. Their taxes are incredible. Gasoline averages from $64 per gallon. Electric and food bills are more than double the USA. A Honda CRV that can be bought here for $28,000 cost well over $50,000 in England, even though the vehicles are produced right in the United Kingdom. The main reason for higher prices in Europe are heavy taxes and fees. The public suffers high unemployment and lower standards of living supporting this scam, while the bureaucrats rake in billions of tax dollars. Most of these taxes have been imposed in order to combat Global Warming and other extreme environmental concerns.

The same Earth First propaganda that has nearly destroyed Western Europe's economy, has swept over our country the last couple decades The result has been a destruction of our manufacturing industries, high fuel prices because we aren't allowed to drill our own oil; along with subsidizing ridiculous alternate fuels like ethanol.

The good news is that the tide is beginning to turn. According to a recent global poll conducted by HSBC, less and less people are accepting the theory of manmade climate change. Fewer than 20 percent of the poll's participants were willing to spend extra money to reduce emissions to combat any possible climate problem. Even Canada is walking away from the Kyoto Treaty it signed in 1998. People are fed up with losing their jobs and paying sky high taxes to reduce a harmless substance like C02.

We can and are producing cleaner and more efficient methods of running our factories, automobiles, and beating our homes. For example: It would take a total of 20 of today's cars to produce the same amount of emissions as one car did back in 1969. Technology and free enterprise not government, has and will solve any real problems that we have in our world. America's economy is hurting. We simply do not need any more taxes to fight the mythical Global Warming monster.

Gasoline averages from $64 per gallon.

That has to be some kind of typo. Get somebody to proofread any letter to the editor besides yourself.

I expect common sense letters to the editor in the heartland. When the NY Times, Washington Post, etc. start printing letters like this, the end of the BS will be near.

Gas prices in Germany (for example) were between $5 and $6 a gallon for the month of December 2008.

Emperor Al Gore has no clothes.

With these temperatures, shrinkage is a serious problem.

1 US gallons = 3.7854118 liters

$64 a liter would mean $16.907 a gallon average in Europe?

I think $6.40 a gallon might be what he meant.

This guy is a liar and a fool.

You have to do more than call names, produce an opposing argument or go elsewhere.

“I think you are on the wrong board”

No, I’m not.

I don’t have to defend my political credentials, but I will say I’m a God-fearing conservative republican.

I take offense to your comment.

Are you saying that unless someone jumps onto the idiotic global warming denial train, they’re not conservative?

Try 1934. Anyway, We only have good GLOBAL tempatures for 30 or so years, and any type of reliable tempatures for 120 or so (and since we are talking about differences of 1 degree celsius or less, even those or suspect). A mere blip in the history of the earth.

The top 13 of the warmest years on record have been since 1990.

That’s not an “argument”

That’s fact.

So what other term should I use than “liar”?

No, not “try 1934”

Don’t blatantly lie.

Then you must be a member of the Global Cooling Denial conservatives. We used to have one post on here years back, but he dont show his face too much lately. This is what Global Cooling Deniers typically look like just before the frostbite sets in.

Somehow I missed your purported "facts" in your complete post:
"This guy is a liar and a fool."

Show us your where you're getting your information.

The global warming fraudsters here in the United States regularly put out false information. They claimed the science is settled and that 1998 was the warmest year on record in the US until it was proved wrong, 1934 was the warmest year on record in the US. More recently they claimed Oct 2008 showed a huge rise in the world temperature until it was proved wrong.

“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical...The main basis of the claim that man’s release of greenhouse gases is the cause of the warming is based almost entirely upon climate models. We all know the frailty of models concerning the air-surface system.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology, and formerly of NASA, who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.”

Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist.

“The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn’t listen to others. It doesn’t have open minds… I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists.” - Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the UN-supported International Year of the Planet.

“So far, real measurements give no ground for concern about a catastrophic future warming.” - Scientist Dr. Jarl R. Ahlbeck, a chemical engineer at Abo Akademi University in Finland, author of 200 scientific publications and former Greenpeace member.

“Anyone who claims that the debate is over and the conclusions are firm has a fundamentally unscientific approach to one of the most momentous issues of our time.” - Solar physicist Dr. Pal Brekke, senior advisor to the Norwegian Space Centre in Oslo. Brekke has published more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles on the sun and solar interaction with the Earth.

“The models and forecasts of the UN IPCC “are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity.” - Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

“It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don’t buy into anthropogenic global warming.” - U.S Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA.

“Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapour and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will.” – . Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, NZ.

These are some additional idiots on the global warming denial train. At least 600 others, equally qualified have spoken up. Many more to come.

Don’t be so damned sure you’re not the idiot.
