“Modi’in to Get a Little Noisier This Week”

Reported: 02:59 AM - Jan/11/09

(IsraelNN.com)

SNIPPET: “During the coming week, a number of commercial flights will use a new route to land at Ben Gurion Airport – flying directly over Modi’in. In a development that took many residents of the town by surprise, the Israel Aviation Authority is testing a new device that will allow planes to automatically land in case of need. The device will help Israel’s standing with the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority, which recently bumped down Israel’s aviation safety rating. Israeli officials said that the device requires planes to fly a more direct route, which will require planes to be rerouted over several cities – including Modi’in”

“Cache with old rockets found in South Lebanon”
By BRENDA GAZZAR

SNIPPET: “The UN Interim Force in Lebanon, in coordination with the Lebanese army, found an old weapons cache containing several rockets in south Lebanon on Friday, a day after four rockets fired from south Lebanon struck Nahariya, UNIFIL officials announced on Friday.

The cache, which was inside two disused bunkers, contained 34 Grad-P rockets and some boxes of ammunition. The bunkers, which were covered with camouflage nets, were located between the hills of Kafr Chouba and Kafr Hammam in the eastern sector of UNIFIL’s operation.”
