Hamas is a “movement” that would just as soon kill everyone or, barring that (and since that is not a realistic goal and requires blind, rabid faith in violence as god) have as many of their own population killed as it takes to hang onto that first goal (i.e. anyone that is a reasonable Palestinian person.)

There fixed. Just as in WWII the US rightly did not treat the German civilians as innocent, not all of the civilians in the current World War are not innocent.
