IF this was the quake...this is their first time alerting me to it.
Don't tell them, OK? They're feeling smug right now.

You can gage what it feels like for you, but you have no idea where the epicenter is located. For example, an 8.0 in San Diego, would probably feel like a 5.0 up here near the epicenter of this latest quake. Now if an 8.0 occurred anywhere, you would not get reporting from anywhere near the center. Those people would probably be buried under their computers. Perhaps an individual within their car might be able to report it on a Blackberry type device. Autos are relatively safe if you are not under an overpass at the time.

Proving once again, that San Diego must just roll with the punches...didn’t feel a thing. 5’s pretty subtantial, too.

The sensation often is colored by location, where people are in relation to the epicenter, whether or not the building they're in is located on bedrock, what type of building they're in, etc.
Here there was a loud noise a micro-second before there was a sharp jolt, then a shuddering shaky bump, then it became an up and down bumpy ride.

HA!
Actually I was wondering if either Oklahoma or Florida could outshine Utah...I think I'll go with the Dominating Utah performmance and they are unbeaten this year....their old Coach won his game tonight though!
Utah was more of a BB power when I was there.
