The sensation often is colored by location, where people are in relation to the epicenter, whether or not the building they're in is located on bedrock, what type of building they're in, etc.

Here there was a loud noise a micro-second before there was a sharp jolt, then a shuddering shaky bump, then it became an up and down bumpy ride.

8:48PM just felt another aftershock... very small, just a bit of a rumble...

Some friends in Alta Loma just called me... it shook them up a bit and the epicenter is pretty close to where her parents live. If they are really strong in San Bernardino County, we feel them out here.
