Unless she’s independently wealthy or retired, she has to work. Am I missing something here? How about those who have children just to get AFDC, foodstamps, housing subsidies, etc?

Am I missing something here? How about those who have children just to get AFDC, foodstamps, housing subsidies, etc? We were talking about well-off women as single mothers. My contention is that those women are not really causing the problems we see with the poor, uneducated teenage mothers.
The unmarried female lawyer who has a kid is not going on foodstamps or welfare.
