Uber conservative political commentator and author, Ann Coulter, is drumming up controversy among the masses with her new book Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America.
The gist of her book? Liberals "playing victim" when she believes them to be the actual "victimizers."
With anything Coulter has her hand in, this latest installment is sure to get tempers flaring, especially among single mothers.
Monday night Coulter appeared on Fox News Channel's Hannity & Colmes.
Tuesday morning Coulter made a controversial appearance on NBC's Today Show (after her originally scheduled appearance was cancelled.)
In both appearances, Coulter's lastest stabs at single motherhood were discussed.
Alan Colmes quoted Coulter's book, "Single motherhood is like a farm team for future criminals and social outcasts."
And finally, "We have a term for youngsters involved, the 'children of divorce,' or as I call them, 'future strippers.'"
Coulter reverted her argument about single motherhood back to what she believes to be our country's recent "hatred" of the institution of marriage and made mention of Hollywood's promotion of single motherhood.

yeah, I agree with your assessment. As a soon to be single mom and friend to many single mothers, I am not offended at all.
She is berating ALL single mothers, even the ones who try to do their best at raising their chioldren.
THAT is what is wrong, and if you cannot see that, then I cannot help you.
People are human, they make mistakes in the real world. The real world is not words from abook as she seems to think it is.
I agree alot with Ann, and yes I wish she wasn’t so sharp tongues, because they hear that, not the message. And yet I find myself considering single motherhood because I have been clinging to the hope of marriage and family and have still never been married. At 36 I feel almost out of time...and it pisses me off to see freak’n teenagers with children and getting by when an adult like me has honestly tried it the old fashion way. I’m no ulgy duckling and I keep getting asked why I’m not married. I’m starting to wonder about adult men and relationships!
I don't think so.
I think Coulter's intent is to point out the harsh reality of the consequences of some of the choices we make. It's the kind of thing parents should spend time thinking long and hard about before divorcing.
Too many parents divorce with very little thought about or awareness of the impact on their children.
Re: Have you even read her books?
One was given to me as a gift. I saw one of the chapters entitled “Who Would Jesus Kill”? That is all I needed to see. I promptly threw it where it belonged....in the trash.
Re: I think Coulter’s intent
All of these people are saying what a great thinker she is, and yet you are not even sure of what she is saying!
Please, PLEASE don't do that to your child. Don't have a child that way just to fulfill your hopes, because it's about much more than you.
That's precisely what Ms. Coulter is talking about.
No, I was responding to Non-Sequitur's post:
"So is Coulter's arguement that divorce should not be allowed? Or that if people divorce then should lose custody of their children?"
I'm quite sure that disallowing divorce or taking away divorced parents' children is not what Ms. Coulter is arguing for.
Amazing to see a N00b on an Ann Coulter thread, harping about how bad she is for the right.
I think you could very well be another one of those paid infiltrators. Er, Infil-traitors.
There have been a number of such on the forum lately, and a number 0f them thrown out. Of course, they squeal about what wonderful conservatives they are, when someone questions them....I expect you will, too.
Ann Coulter is a constitutional scholar. The fact that she has a sharp wit, is beautiful, and is now an iconic figure for true conservatives naturally makes her a lightning rod for lesser minds. Your attacks are very very lame, you and your friends.
Ann Coulter is awesome. We need more, just like her. I pray she is blessed every day of her life.
You are nothing.
“Who Would Jesus Kill”?
Yeah, great stuff!/sarcasm
Assuming you have the financial capabilities to take care of a child, I'd say go for it. 36 year, financially stable women aren't really the demographic of single mothers that are an issue. Frankly, the problem with most single mothers is that they tend to be poor, uneducated and way too young to be able to take care of a kid. That's why you end up with their kids becoming criminals.
Established, educated and financially secure preofessional woman becoming single mothers is rarely an issue.
That’s blasphemy in Coulterland!
(blasphemy which I agree with)
You read it? I haven’t. Who would Jesus kill? Oh, wait, you have no idea, you threw the book away, right? Was that you, or some other empty headed pseudo-conservative rino?
She called the cildren of divorce 'future strippers'. So it sure as hell doesn't sound like she's in support of it.
And just out of curiosity did Coulter offer any solutions? Or was she having too much fun ripping people down to come up with any?
Pointing out that I signed up relatively recently is in no way a counter to the points I've made.
I think you could very well be another one of those paid infiltrators. Er, Infil-traitors.
Paranoia is not a counter to my points, either.
Of course, they squeal about what wonderful conservatives they are, when someone questions them....I expect you will, too.
So, defending myself against your cheap shots constitutes "squealing?"
Ann Coulter is a constitutional scholar.
Has she written any scholarly articles or books about constitutional law? AFAIK, she writes popular books about political issues, but that's not the same thing. Obama's written a book or two, too......
You are nothing.
For someone who is outraged by relatively minor criticisms of Ann Coulter, you sure seem to throw out a lot of insults.
Logical dissonance.
There's no logical dissonance in wanting them to keep their legs together and not get pregnant in the first place !
Producing bastards should be a shameful thing for both the female AND the male involved.
Instead of aborting, she should either marry or put the kid up for adoption. If she doesn't want to do that, she damn well better support it herself.
Probably just as well, chapters like those were written for the more intellectual among us.
If she knew ahead of time that no one else would be handing her free checks for having the little bastard, and no one would pay for the abortion,
we’d see a lot better sexual behavior choices being made.
Has she ever argued a case before the Supreme Court? Anyone can call themselves a constitutional lawyer, but only a handful of people actually practice in that area. Ann Coulter is not one of them.
Have you even read her books?
I've read parts of a couple. They are amusing, certainly, but do not belong in the conservative canon with the writings of Goldwater or Disraeli.
Have you noticed the voluminous level of supporting footnotes she includes in each of her books?
Footnotes are a dime a dozen.
What books have you written? None. So what?
What have you done to support the conservative movement besides post on a conservative forum?
Donated money and worked on a number of political campaigns, including Dole in '96, Bush both times and McCain this last time around. In 2004, I was a poll observer in Nevada. I was also an officer in the College Republicans undergrad and the Federalist Society in law school.
You’ve certainly got that $8-10 an hour posting anti on FR style down pat.
I have pointed you out. Sooner or later, the mods are gonna getcha. But don’t expect me to engage with your drivel.
