CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- One of Chicago's most well-known real estate moguls appears to have shot himself to death, police said.
Steven Good was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot Monday, police said.
The body of Steven L. Good was found in his Jaguar on Monday. The car was spotted in a parking lot of a wildlife preserve in Kane County, Illinois, just outside Chicago, authorities said.
No note was found, and police say they do not know how long the 52-year-old had been in the vehicle.
Good was the chairman and chief executive officer of Sheldon Good & Co., a major U.S. real estate auction company.
The death comes amid great turmoil in the country's real estate industry. In his role as chairman of the Realtors Commercial Alliance Committee, Good commented on tough conditions last month at a business conference.

Ever notice more people die while the dimwits are in power?
Can't make this stuff up!!!
HaHa—very funny. In the absense of a suicide note and forensics how could anyone conclude his death was an “apparent suicide”? Oh wait, we are talking about Chicago are we not?
Way to to Chicagoans. You live in a city any hoodlum would be proud of.

Did he wipe his fingerprints off the gun after he shot himself?
Can we come up with a word that applies to Chicago........as we did with Arkancide?
Twice...
The real estate market here has been in turmoil, but not as bad as other parts of the country. Good’s firm auctioned off a lot of real estate. It could be the firm was holding a lot of distressed properties and unable to unload them in the current market.
Unlike others here, I wouldn’t subscribe to the conspiracy theories. The company was probably way over-extended.
A friend committed suicide a while back and we couldn’t figure out why he did so; unlike Good, our friend was doing pretty well financially (turns out he had quite a large estate). Later, we learned he had been on anti-depressants; he sure hid his depression well.
With a rifle no doubt!!
I think many of the post were not serious, but humor!!
I’ve often heard of suicides when one tries to come off those anti-depressants. In any case, the effect of this kind of thing on the surviving family would be awful and I won’t be among those who would pass crass, casual comments on it.
Did they even find the gun?
This article is bull...everyone knows you can’t have a handgun in Chicago! /s
“Ive seen how badly a suicide impacts the surviving family members...”
The people who hurt most from a suicide are those left behind...the people who loved the deceased...the detractors, the enemies will go one. Sad for this guy’s family and friends that loved him. I know how it feels to be one of the one’s left behind...it stings and it stinks.
