Cars just last longer than ever before. People buy them for ego not need. That is a luxury that may be gone for ever. I had my last truck for 10 years. This new one is better and will probably last even longer. My car is a ‘93 and runs great. No need to change.

Hmmm... Richardson has a problem with the truth as well
Bill Richardson was born in Pasadena, California.[5][6] His father, William Blaine Richardson Jr. (died in 1972), was an American Citibank executive[5][6] who grew up in Boston, Massachusetts[5] and lived and worked in Mexico City.[6] His mother, María Luisa López-Collada Márquez[6] is Mexican[5][7][8] and was his father’s secretary[6] and a socialite.[7] Richardson’s father was born in Nicaragua.[6] Just before Richardson was born, his father sent his mother to California to give birth because, as Richardson explained, “My father had a complex about not having been born in the United States.”[6] Richardson, a U.S. citizen by birthright, was raised during his childhood in Mexico City.[6][7] At age 13, Richardson’s parents sent him to Massachusetts to attend a preparatory school, Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, where he played baseball as a pitcher.[6] He entered Tufts University [5][9]in 1966 where he continued to play baseball.[10]
Richardson’s original biographies stated that he had been drafted by the Kansas City Athletics and the Chicago Cubs to play professional baseball, but a 2005 Albuquerque Journal investigation revealed that he never was on any official draft. Richardson acknowledged the error which he claimed was unintentional, saying that he had been scouted by several teams and told that he “would or could” be drafted, but was mistaken in saying that he was actually drafted.[11]
In 1967, he pitched in the amateur Cape Cod Baseball League for the Cotuit Kettleers in Cotuit, Massachusetts. A Kettleers program included the words “Drafted by K.C.” The information which according to the investigation was generally provided by the players or their college coaches. Richardson said:
“When I saw that program in 1967, I was convinced I was drafted...And it stayed with me all these years.”[12]
He “heard” he was drafted by a pro team. I guess the fact that he never played pro ball never entered his thought process.

Palis sure acknowledged those 75 trucks of aid from Israel though... but shhh, don’t tell.
No food but rockets, gave them gardens and hothouses, they burned them down.
It’s in their charter that Israel doesn’t exist. Removing that would be a start.
Until then it’s always a hudna, until they reload.
Just once i’d like to hear an Arab country admit the throwing out of Palis and not wanting them in their countries. The Saudis have held million dollar telethons for Palis (decades), where’s the money, infrastructure, jobs? Israel fixed their sewers, give them food, treats the enemy in their hospitals. Hamas put the barbed wire around the Palis, they voted for them, their bed. When they get tired of being human shields and reject toddler jihad indoctrination on TV, then maybe.

Speaking as someone who has been a Newt fan in the past, my biggest problem with the man is that he is, as you say, brilliant. I know how little real effort it takes to learn the truth about the whole AGW hoax and I also know he is more than capable of understanding the facts. This leaves me with the conclusion that he is pandering to the hoax because he sees a political benefit. The same can be said for his BTMN comments. That said, I no longer have any respect for the man.

Regarding Caroline’s “you know” and Obama’s “uh ... uh” speech patterns. I did not attend the prestigious universities as did they but ALL the degree programs I knew about had a public speaking requirement. Obama was editor Harvard Law Review for crying out loud. Caroline is a world-renowned find raiser. You mean to tell me they never had to make speeches in front of mid to large audiences? No where along their rise to power someone suggested a bit of coaching? I find that very hard to fathom but I must believe my lying ears.

We own a ‘95 Ford Taurus (145K miles-runs great), a ‘98 Explorer (204K miles-runs great), and bought an ‘08 Fusion this past April...am hoping to trade it in on another new one within the next month or so...great car. As for the other two, they don’t look bad at all for their age and still running well (with a few minor quirks (cruise control went out on the Taurus a few years back and as much as the dealership tried to fix it, they couldn’t isolate the problem...so other than no cruise control, it’s in great shape). We have always taken care of our cars with regular maintenance, oil changes, etc. It pays in the long run.
