WASHINGTON - Motorists are driving less and buying less gasoline, which means fuel taxes aren't raising enough money to keep pace with the cost of road, bridge and transit programs.
A federal commission created by Congress to find a way to make up the growing revenue shortfall in the program that funds highway repairs and construction is talking about increasing federal gas and diesel taxes...

Agreed, my “give a damn meter” is busted too.
...even a small change, like having to produce a tax return showing that you actually paid some taxes, would help the situation out a lot.
People who have no stake in the country have no respect for the country.....
...and as I speak, Al Franken is about to be named Senator....the Senate has about hit the bottom of the intellegence scale....it can't possible get any dumber...

Stamp tax
Sugar tax
Tea tax
Revolution
I will expand on this as soon as I have the time to do a proper job. Bottom line, the politicians are fat, dumb and happy, enjoying life and their latest pay raises and improved perks, while the heavy lifting is being done by faceless, unaccountable members of a commission who shall all remain faceless, anonymous and beyond reach.
Who, us?
Less driving will put less wear and tear on the roads and the government will spend less on upkeep. Right?
Franken is the embodiment of the Yellow Dog. It does not matter who is on the ballot. Just as long as it is a DemonRAT.
maintenance, repairs and upkeep on roads and infrastructure should be less if people are using them less.

TOUGH CRAP do what everyone in the private sector does cut back do with what you had last year . BUT NO the givernment never does with less ,WHY DO WE PUT UP WITH THIS CRAP
