Presidential Pardons: Who’s Most Deserving?
Pajamas Media ^ | January 1 | Laura Goldman

Tis the pardon season. As the clock strikes midnight on his administration, Santa Bush gets to decide which convicted criminals have been naughty or nice. Being one of Santa’s elves, I have prepared a pardon list for his consideration.

A presidential pardon for Lewis “Scooter” Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Richard Cheney, would be one of the most controversial. Although he was investigated for leaking the name of CIA agent Valerie Plame, Libby was not even indicted for that crime. Perhaps we need to add an Amendment to the Constitution that would grant the SCOTUS to review all pardons. We just need a check against a future president going a little nuts and granting pardons to every incarcerated person in the United States.

I am not saying that is likely, but if it were to happen, things would be crazy for the next administration.

Bush should pardon the rap artist caught with 32 pounds of PURE cocaine.

Oh, nevee mind he already pardoned him.

I wonder how much cash Bush received for that pardon? Or do FReepers think he did it because he is a good man deep inside.

Bush ain’t giving out many pardons.

Clinton gave them out bigtime and for money and got away with it.

Amazing.

President Bush should grant a blanket pardon to himself and all members of his Administration.

Here's one here close to my home I think needs consideration..not sure if you could call it a pardon though...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Volz

here's another one....an elderly local pot grower who after the locals refused to confiscate a local USA stepped in and got greedy..Bernie Ellis

I don't think Bush is real forgiving and he's fairly clean except for bailing out rich thieves and auto unions on my dime

Agreed - and while he is at it, he can award these guys with the President's Award for Distinguished Federal Civilian Service for all the grief the Gov't has caused them and for wrongful inprisonment...

The Border Agents are most deserving since they were only doing their job and got railroaded for it.

Border agents, Campion & Ramos. However I am not holding my breath for it to happen. I think they would have been pardoned for the holidays if he was going to do it. Still praying he does pardon them .

He won’t. He seems to want to make sure the drug smugglers on the border can import drugs at leisure, and to keep the border guards more worried about their being arrested for doing the job.
