One of the nation’s largest unions, the Laborers’ International Union of North America, was urged Friday to appoint former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris to oversee administration of Chicago’s Local 1001 as part of a voluntary reform agreement. One local shopping center has used the plight of Governor Blagojevich as a marketing pitch for its products. Now, a Metro Centre jeweler hopes to make a profit off selling senate seats.

If you shopped there during the holiday season you may have noticed signs with the slogan "we sell everything but senate seats".

That was the case until recently when Pettet Jewelry storeowner Brad Pettet decided to make senate seat charms for sale with a donation.

"There's not use sitting around going oh jeez you know Illinois politics it's so depressing. Because everybody I've mentioned it to so far just thinks it's hysterica", Pettet said.

The senate seat charms will be available in sterling silver, gold and platinum.
