“Smart move. If the senate doesn’t accept the appointment, they’ll be racists.”

Yep. My thoughts exactly.

Though he could have gone for the ne plus ultra of selecting a transgendered, female black with American Indian blood, who is recovering from some sort of addiction, and was of course, “abused” as a child.....

Payback to the Unions

Chicago Laborers’ Union Agrees to Unprecedented Moves

to Guarantee Integrity and Confidence in Leadership

One of the nation’s largest unions, the Laborers’ International Union of North America, was urged Friday to appoint former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris to oversee administration of Chicago’s Local 1001 as part of a voluntary reform agreement. Laborers’ Local 1001 represents nearly 3,000 municipal government employees.

From Wiki (taken with grain of salt):
He was National Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer for Operation PUSH from January to October 1977.

Regardless of the impressive career, this may be his link to Rev Jesse Jackson, or even ties to Congressman JJJr. Welfare pimping and racial blackmail have been some well-documented hallmarks of Operation PUSH and the good Rev'rund.

LOL. Blago story gets better each day. Liberal Dems and their gigantic egomania, the gift that keeps of giving. Culture of Corruption, anyone...

Nancy Pelosi, 2006 video: Pelosi on Rep. Jefferson

Pelosi: "A culture of corruption is a system in this Congress of the United States that the Republicans have instituted. The Washington Post has called it a "criminal enterprise operating out of" the Republican Leader's office. It is about all the Republican Caucus enabling their Caucus to have a strong link to the lobbying community at the expense of America's consumers. In the case of Mr. Jefferson, I think the Ethics Committee should investigate him. It is his private matter, and he should be investigated because of the stories that have been in the press and the guilty plea."

I don’t know too much about this guy but at least it’s not Jesse Jew-hatin’ Jackson Junior or that welfare queen enabler Valerie Jarrett. I guess we’ll learn more but those two need to be kept out of the senate by any means necessary.

Yes.

All the tactics employed to fan the flames of the minor Watergate burglary, will be utilized in reverse to protect Democrats and especially the annointed Zero.

Over at DU many of them seem to be perfectly okay with this. After all, he hasn’t been convicted of anything.

Sheep. Total sheep.

But not as many as Abraham Lincoln.

How many did Lincoln lose? He served in the state house for 8 years, congress for 2 terms and won president twice too.

He has an impressive resume and career

Yeah, that's it. Let's do away with elections and select our representatives based on their resumes and then appoint them.

Burris was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in 1984

In 1994, he was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Illinois

In 1995, he ran for mayor of Chicago, losing to incumbent Richard M. Daley

In 1998 and 2002, he again unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party nomination for Governor of Illinois.

So this Senate seat is now a “black Senate seat”?
Black tribalism and racism always gets a pass

And Lincoln wasn’t defeated for reelection to Congress, he gave it up because he and his rivals had a take turns in the seat deal.

Even ignoring two elections, six is more than five.
