This year alone, Taleban militants have destroyed more than 130 schools in the Swat valley. They want to bring in Islamic sharia law in the region.
Militant attacks on schools in the region have deprived more than 17,000 students of education.
'Severe blow'
Although schools for girls have come under attack on numerous occasions in the past, this is the first time Taleban militants have issued a complete ban on girls attending them, the BBC's Ethirajan Anbarasan says.
A Taleban spokesman said the prohibition would remain in place unless and until Islamic sharia law was fully implemented in the region.
State-run schools are seen by the insurgents as key symbols of the government.
Now the militants have threatened to destroy private schools as well.
These schools are not Islamic religious institutions and the students are taught courses based on the government syllabus.

And speaking of protecting our own shores and people it's the Taliban who were the last pukes to attack us.
Fundamentally I have no problem with exterminating the enemy.
I wonder how many Taleban we have inadvertently imported into this country over the years and how many CAIR has hired.
These people need to be hunted down and given no quarter. A good first step would be to put the fangs back into our foreign intelligence services (so that we have the information needed to both inflict maximum damage while minimizing collateral damage).
We are the most powerful nation on earth. We have right on our side. They are human beings just like your family. Re-thinking that one?

Very true, but it is our job to enforce the civil law in a nation hosting our armed forces for the purpose of ensuring order. And I seriously doubt that Afghanistan’s civil law encompasses the right to blow up public or private schools because you disagree with their education policies.

All of the Taleban should be killed immediately wherever they are. If someone even joins the Taleban they should be killed as well.

It may not be our job to remake their “culture”, but it is in our best interest to ensure that their “culture” doesn’t infect the rest of us. So it is in our best interest to clean up their “culture because it is toxic.
