Absolutely beautiful. Having just lost my mother this year, it touches my heart to read your post. Sincerest thanks and may God bless you.

I think I know of the rendition you refer to. It is by Michael Crawford. It is a stunning version (although I subtract points because of the children singing) second only to Groban's. Thankfully, the children only have part of the song; otherwise they don't sing.

Crawford's CD is still available and has other good ones, too. He has "All is Well" on it which is fantastic.

Thanks for the information.
And I give you credit seeing how we (in a very friendly way) disagree
about the chilren chorus.
I'll have to check out Crawford's album.

I'm partial to the Cartman version:

Indeed. My favorite Christmas song of all time. And Josh Groban’s rendition brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful. Thanks for posting.

As much as I like Johs Groban, I don’t think anyone has a purer singing voice than Andy Williams. Here is his version:

The one posted of Josh solo was in New York. I also posted a link to him singing O Come All Ye Faithful with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Sorry, but you can’t compare it to O HOLY NIGHT sang by SELAH. SELAH’S version will beat Josh’s anytime. IT IS BY FAR the best song ever sang by any artist!!
